I understand why she gets depressed about Canan though, after the FC there is no what else to go. She was building up and planning it for a long time and then it sort of just happened and it's over. Not even a year into the FC and it feels like she's alright going through the motions. I called it the first few FC streams saying she was doing too much too fast and not leaving enough for later. She got too excited and wanted to do new things but after that FC stream with the 3 camera angles, not much left.
It's a shame that there's so much potential for Noel but it feels like she just views Noel as a character she plays rather than herself. With Noel she could build up to an album release or a SoloLive Concert. Or even start voice acting and other works. With Canan, she has none of that.

I've never played Y7, but I hear it's very good. The main character loves DQ and views his life as a DQ protagonist, hence why the gameplay is turn based. If she just wants to play Y7 then she shouldn't listen to chat in this case. You don't need to know anything about Yakuza in order to get into Y7. Sure, you'll see a bunch of references that you won't get but those can be glossed over. And yes, you won't understand how epic characters like Kiryu, Majima, Saijima are but the game does a good job in framing them to be important. Hell, going into Yakuza 7 raw might make the experience of playing the earlier games better because you'll finally understand why things are the way they are.
