Gensokyo is a graveyard for the forgotten, a land of mediocrity and sloth. This is a place where the forgotten go to rot, thanks to the machinations of that Maribel Hearn, or now called "Yukari Yakumo". This is nought more than a tiny corner of fantasy etched out in a insignificant region of Japan. This region, they call it "Gensokyo".

Pathetic. They hide. All of them: gods, spirits, demons, all of them. They hide from the truth. That they failed. That they were not fit to survive, as their spiritual nourishment ran dry, as mankind propelled themselves into a new golden age leaving them in the dust of old history books. Even the brightest amongst them only tried to maintain their image, as a terror of whatever: striking from the dark and gorging on the weak - only to be gunned down by soldiers and lynched by peasants. I recall when the once proud Scarlet family in Treviso were staked, leaving behind their two daughters which fled nowhere to be seen. Their mansion disappeared with them as well, for better or worse. It was quickly sold off by the government, and their memory forgotten. And the worst part? They were innocent.

Now, this? Is this his answer to the death of the supernatural? Useless dragon. Even that pompous demon goddess did a better job at creation, even if she was poor at lighting. This land will collapse, and collapse violently. If I were an optimistic, I would see it as a stopgap. But alas, I cannot, for they are nought but shortsighted by millenia of hubris.

No, I will not join them. I will not join these so called "youkai" in their pathetic languishing, living happily at the whims of a farm filled with ignorant and fearful cattle. I will not consign myself to an existence of a myth incarnate, damned to be rejected in the face of human dominance. I must save them from this atrocious fate. I will join them in a world that all can live in peace, where fae and man do not have to strike against nor slave for each other

Tonight, I embark onto a journey to the ruins of Atlantis. The records I stole from Olympus detail that the denizens had performed experiments on divinity. Perhaps it was those experiments that led to Poseidon to sink the place. I feel it will be significant in the project.

I must persevere in my research and succeed, lest I fail and we die as nought more than wretched parasites. Even if they were pathetic, I will not let them go this way.
