im a software developer for a company with over 3000 employees
last month we had a meeting for people to share their hobbies
i told them my hobby is playing japanese games and everyone was very impressed
after the meeting i got a DM from like 20 people asking me how to learn japanese
so i created a group chat and i just copied DJT's most common methods of learning and now im sort of a "japanese learning" guru inside the company, theres currently 50 people in the group
im like JLPT3
im fucking screwed if anyone that actually speaks japanese joins the group

I finished mamagoto the other day as my first vn in japanese, had a pretty good time.
Started Bishoujo Mangekyou and I feel like the vocab it uses is quite complex compared to mamagoto, should I just power through it?

Also I have like 1k cards from mamagoto in my deck and I'm not sure if I should set them to appear in random order or the order they were added.

I played only the first game in Bishoujo Mangekyou series but it indeed had a lot of complex vocabulary and peculiar writing.
And it also had quite long eroscenes so it might become quite painful edging experience when reading slowly as a beginner, especially because Kirie is too freaking erotically cute.

I want to learn kanji individually and radical approach seems suited for me.

Should I practice to write the radicals with hand as I grind through radical Anki deck? It will probably be easier to learn the stroke orders for kanji when I read through Kodensha's course after memorizing the radicals.

I've been watching anime (with jap subs) for about two weeks by now, and I've also been studying anki at the same time. Today I decided to stop using anki because it's really boring and I'd rather gain vocab by reading. I tried with manga but it's really tiresome, and I don't feel like anime will be much better in that regard. Any tips on how to make it more entertaining at the start? I already know of stuff like yomichan and such, the tools aren't the issue, it's just boring having to look up every single word (but still better than anki)

look up everything for a few episodes then just let a bunch of episodes run

I only really started doing Anki after I decided to mine my LNs about 10 months ago so I could remember what I read and not have to translate it every time. Over 2000 cards now and I only missed less than 5 days. At the start I was really struggling but at the end of the second book the words I had to mine were relatively few and far between.

Also I eventually started swapping the definitions for jp-en to jp-jp which increased my retention rate.

I wouldn't feel bad, I was using Chinese simplified characters for Japanese text for 5+ years without noticing beyond a nagging feel I kept on forgetting certain characters.

Also not exactly that, but if there is one aspect of Japanese that I put no effort into it is picking up readings I do not pick up in whatever I want to listen to. 0 practical purpose for it.
