Now that Vocaloid legacy is waning, how will it be remembered for future otakus? It used to be a pretty big deal a decade ago, now, almost no one is talking g about it.

>> No.42632748

You actually missed he whole revival post pandemic.
Apparently artists like inabakumori and Pinnochio-P are pretty popular now.

Miku can retire with pride, her songs are eternal.

2021 and 2022 were all time high in terms of total number of Miku songs and number of songs that surpassed 1mln views.
Miku has literally never been more popular than she is now.

It's insane how out-of-touch westerners, especially on this site, are with Vocaloid. Miku could become the most popular franchise on Earth with posters on every corner of the world and this site would still be convinced she's dead.

Heh, I was about to post that, thanks.

/jp/'s userbase is 90% idolfags and vteens; it's no wonder they're not into Vocaloid. And as for /a/, Vocaloid is probably too "moeshit" for them.

Well, then vteens must not be doing their reps, because vtubers doing vocaloid covers is pretty common

I know Hatsune Miku isn't a vtuber but she seems more like a vtuber than a non-vtuber, you know?

>> No.42642221

>>42642211
that's because vtubers predated vocaloid aesthetics

(that mobile game) has ruined vocloid for me, even though I like the songs.

sometimes i see vocaloid merch in stores like hot topic or the dollar store so i assume its more successful than in the past if it's able to break barriers like that
but, i haven't listen to any new songs at all, just the early 2000s classics....
>>42649906
i thought it would be like project diva on mobile, but it focuses on non vocaloid characters and the fans remind me of deranged bandori en fans, how did they fuck up so bad

If you think that demographic is responsible for the mentality of the OP you are just wrong and is self-confirming bias.
Notice they said:
>Now that Vocaloid legacy is waning
That is NOT the perspective of someone who was never into it.
That is the perspective of someone who was into it into the past but no longer is in its current form.

They might think they are still into "it", hence why it is a positive tone towards vocaloid itself, but they are actually into a particular scene of "it", involving certain artists and communities, that has been fully explored to the interests of the creators involved and has been left to history at this point as the individual actors and fans have mostly moved on, whether within vocaloid or not. The cultural nexus for anyone calling themselves a "/jp/sie" at this point is a void that is meaningless regardless of how diligently you define and gatekeep with it, as even the actors which defined that culture have mostly moved on from that context to be creative in novel and self-interesting ways.

That's just a perspective of someone who wants to make a bait thread.

>That's just a perspective of someone who wants to make a bait thread.
No.
In the past I have totally made threads like this in good faith because I was under the impression that I was living at the End of History like a lot of jaded teenagers and young adults do. If you are trying to write this off as something done by people who are not in your demographic, you are actively wasting your time trying to validate a falsity.

>> No.42666284

>>42666168
Cool.
It doesn't change the fact that the whole thread is pointless and it got the same guaranteed replies as one would have expected. If someone cares about future of vocaloid enough to make a thread about it should also be aware that voice synths are now way more popular than ever before or at least do a simple google search.

>If you are trying to write this off as something done by people who are not in your demographic
The only person who is talking about demographics here is you.

>> No.42667041

>>42666284
No disagreement with you. I also dislike it for being low quality, but it would be even more idiotic for the OP to get their thread deleted and such merely for that on 4chan.
So I will object to writing it off as a troll thread even when it could very well be, because it very well could not be.

Interesting how "that mobile game" feels the same to DIVAfags with how another "that mobile game" does to nasufags.
both are shit, and only good for the ero-doujinshi content
