I am super on the fence with a similar idea. It would be part of a larger story, so the manticore would just be a minor character. Pretty much a former hero goes shell shock mode and blacks out when a manticore keeps pushing her routine. He comes to and finds he has her pinned to a wall and is choking the shit out of her. Don't worry. She gets away with a few nasty bruises around the neck. It would be the edgiest thing to happen in the story, but it still might be too much. I think by writing it here, it helps curb the temptation to write it for real.
