Would it be pretentious for a non-Japanese, when writing in Japanese, to use a kanji in his name (where the pronunciation matches) instead of a katakana?

Hey guys, what's going on in this thread?

>> No.4257246

>>4257238
Absolutely nothing.
Making a thread with a yes/no question isn't very smart.

It's generally a bad idea, unless your name exactly matches one of the common Japanese names.
Japanese have difficulty reading kanjified foreigners' names, because they're not used to seeing them.

The man in your picture is a Japanese citizen, not a foreigner.

What's your point?

Hey, it's LSD-chan

You cannot be a true Japanese citizen unless your blood is Japanese.

>> No.4257417

False. 有道 出人 is a true Japanese citizen, anyone who denies this is racist scum.
