This is Kasai Tomomi, otherwise known as the girl who'll make a fabulous seiyuu someday. Her voice is ridiculously squeaky, but she has the sadface bit going, and is half of the unofficial unit (they tend to group off and name their little groups) Tomotomo Doumei with Itano Tomomi. Nobody is quite sure why, when the unit name is all about them sharing a name, Ohe Tomomi wasn't invited.

AKB48 and MoMusu are two different kinds of groups.

MoMusu is a pre-established group that everyone pretty much knows and they're "successful" by association.

AKB48 is a stage performance singing group in Akihabara that's gaining popularity. It's not like they just suddenly appeared. The majority of their songs are done on stage and it's much harder to measure AKB48's success since they don't sell CDs as a major record label.

Saying AKB48 sucks because of low CD sales is like claiming a talented musician that preforms locally sucks because he doesnt sell CDs like a established contacted musician.

Personally I think AKB48 has better songs with better acoustics then MM currently does. AKB48 Songs about loosing your virginity, sex and suicide are much more interesting then the same old songs that MM puts out.

There would be no Momusu without Akimoto Yasushi. Back in the 80's, he created Onyanko Club. During OC's reign, he also created the concept of shuffle groups and units which is how Hello!Project expanded beyond just MM. In the late 90's, he created Checkicco (CXCO) and tried to compete against Morning Musume. He also created the bandol concept by splitting off a few of the girls from CXCO for the idol band Chee's. The problem was that he didn't have a Tsunku so the whole thing dried up from a songwriting perspective. It was only years later that Studio Runtime "borrowed" the bandol concept when ZONE was formed.

Unlike his previous creations, Akimoto took a different approach with AKB48 and went back to otaku roots.
