Canonically, "Daiyousei" is a mischievous fairy who has two definite, undisputed appearances and in those two appearances she teleports around and/or shoots you in the face. Like most fairies, she's a playful, awful, piece of shit.

It's not really "false" since we don't know who that fairy is. Given all the mangaka are largely left to their own devices with a vague ZUN, according to them, it's not certain whether "frivolous details" were his intention. That's how you get Lily White and "Lily Black" in the same shot "canonically" even though they're literally the same person.

Even in Strange Creators of Outer World, they only mark EoSD and GFW as her official appearances https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Strange_Creators_of_Outer_World/Who%27s_Who_of_Humans_%26_Youkai_in_Gensokyo/Daiyousei,_Koakuma_and_Lily_White
Regardless, literally none of those appearances ever show her as shy or anything. The closest argument would be that one you posted, all fairies except for Clownpiece quake and tremble at the sight of Reimu.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that nothing has ever said that the fairy we see there sometimes is "daiyousei", even in the work that tells you what appearances are official. I'm also saying even if they are official, they're insignificant toward the "she's a demure fairy" narrative as they don't support it. As for a relationship with Cirno, Cirno's said to have a relationship with all fairies on the lake, including Daiyousei, as their "leader".
Lastly ZUN did indeed outright say "Lily Black" is Lily White cosplaying (but visually in a manga they're in the same place in one scene), has said that the weapons the Lunarian sisters had depicted weren't what he imagined, and has, according to Aya and himself, an incredibly light touch with art direction.

You're being disingenuous, the fairy is daiyousei because she has the same design as daiyousei and different from other daiyousei as they show up later in the manga at the end during the okina battle. Yes the 'daiyousei being docile and cirnos gentler half' is entirely fanon. Just because there's a few artistic miscommunications in other manga doesn't invalidate daiyousei appearing in others nor that she's friends with cirno or exists.
You're trying too hard, unless zun goes out of his way to explicitly say daiyousei wasn't there in the three fairies manga and that they have nothing to do with each other she was there and is friends with cirno

Clownpiece fears the oni miko as much as any other fairy, really.
The only fairies we know that fought Reimu directly are Cirno and Lily White, and Lily probably just got so excited by what she thinks is spring that she doesn't even realize who she's going up against.
