Why is the 2d industry stuck in a loop with material?

We're not getting anything new...

Okay I get it in anime, it's high buget/risk so you can just pull off something that isnt going to be profitable.

But looking at the 2009 manga they're all the same stuff we know...

You could call Yankee-dere a new type of dere but isnt that just classic Love Hina type Narusegava that punches you when people see you together instead of punching you when do something accidentally?

I cant say anything about visual novels since I cant read japanese, but I'm pretty sure it's still the old Childhood Friend, Tomboy, Tsundere, Yandere, Robot, Maid, Miko routine...

I'm not looking to play one, I was wondering if there were any VNs that really broke the mold. I guess sex is fine, I just meant not that genre of game. There are infinity novels that get by without incluing magic, robots, or tsundere moe childhood friend romance, but I know the medium & market really, really favors that.

Nitroplus. Yes, most of their works include porn but the stories are also something you won't see from others. Definitely not your normal "boy meets girl and romances her" stuff. They're also huge reverse-weeaboos.
Liar-Soft. People might troll about "lol disney" but their games are pretty damn stylish and unique.
Innocent Grey. Stuff with detective work included, and yes, there is porn.
KID. Great stories, they also have quite few works that don't include sex.
