Bits of it sound like music for the original Doom 1 and 2, but I like it (probably, because I'm a Doom addict).

It's kind of all over the place but in a charming sort of a way. I like it.

This reminds me of the old Shin Megami Tensei games. Especially SMT 2.
I really like it.

Second half is a cacophony of instruments, and only the first 20 seconds of the song is anything impressive. Try again.

Look up touhou soundfont on google. A soundfont is a library of synth presets that you can put into a soundfont plugin with a DAW and get a bunch of classic synth sounds quickly. It's free you should try it

what is your process of starting a composition and how do you continue it? my ears are very sensitive to low frequency, so i often start by writing several basslines and sketching a basic melody and kick-snare rhythm around them and then complimenting it with fancier and more varied elements later once the foundation is finished. i'm very curious how others do it though because i have a lot to learn.

I think trying to make it a formula may stifle your creative energy. My stuff often sounds bizarre and meandering but that can always be trimmed down and tamed later, whereas taking a fully worked-out composition and adding complexity is much harder.

For me I always start with the melody, then usually drums/bass, then keys to fill out the sound. So long as you start with the melody you'll probably get that VGM like sound

when i feel explosively creative i have no need to stick to much structure and find myself doing very unorthodox things, but when i'm in a rut it helps to keep in mind some loose idea of where i should go. spilling out a cacophony and polishing it down to something more temperate sounds like a fun process and like a great exercise because it allows you to get ideas out very quickly while also challenging your control.
i do wonder how some can come up with catchy melodies so quickly on a blank slate with only a loose sense of the section's tone and rhythm. it's like watching someone figure drawing with no skeleton, and people do that and they're good at it. it's impressive to me a lot.

The trick is to listen to a ton of music as far as I can tell. Your creativity is directly proportional to how inspired you are, which is a product of how much you enjoy other art
