the issue here is that in reality Satori was never as powerful as the fans want to believe. It's like with Yukari, they want to make her look like an almighty goddess when in reality she's a lazy person who leaves everything up to Reimu.
Satori on a 4th level boss. the manga treats her as one.

The real issue is that ZUN! is a really, really mediocre writer. He just can't do anything creative or craft an engaging story with clever use of the powers he gives to his characters so the "they just lazy lol" is a big cop out.
