>> No.42150358

>>42148960
There is no official offline version of Kaimei Riddles. Likely you're either getting decade-old official hardware and pirated data with the connection check patched out or you're paying premium for regular computer parts you can get for cheap and data that's already publically available.
It's likely that the data is already patched to unlock all songs but you won't be able to save scores/settings without network access regardless.

Did you buy a cab from Koun Cheung or something. Most people aren't this clueless. Chances are the cab will come with some old data that's hacked to work offline. For score saving, you have a lot of options:
- Eagle is built for arcade operators who don't know what they're doing (e.g. retards like you). They can hook you up with idiot-proof drive images and all you have to do is plug in an ethernet cable.
- There are like a dozen other servers you can connect to if you know literally anyone who can point you toward one of them.
- Asphyxia is a local score saving solution, and you'll easily find support for it as long as you're not running new data. If you want to play the latest and greatest leaks, you'll end up having to find the right people to get appropriate plugins, or you'll need higher than a room temperature IQ to modify the plugins yourself.

>> No.42152468

>>42152320
Nice reading comprehension. If it comes with official hardware it doesn't come with Asphyxia (which provides its own local network access) it's also very likely they don't bother including it if they advertise it as offline to clueless cab buyers.

Realistically speaking, nothing that they will actually be willing to do.

Unrealistically speaking and still with the constraint of not spending more money: Steam clients of Konasute CS programs and allowing each of them to run simulator content locally on the player's machine (i.e. BMS on IIDX's Konasute and keep all records and scores localized).

These companies are competing with people who never want to spend more than $0 on anything and will play Osu and FNF forever. They could eventually be convinced to play other stuff if it took the appeal of free content away from them and had the content playable on a platform that can be seen to provide a superior experience.

In a world where IIDX and BMS exists, nobody should be willingly playing FNF, but there's a reason why that's not the case.

That feels more like a problem Pop'n and PMS would suffer from than a problem IIDX suffers from since the colorful characters are a huge draw for Pop'n and FNF. If anything, Konami is afraid of pulling off a Guitar Hero and flood the market with shitty controllers unless they get a hookup with Valve and produce a limited amount of controllers for the Konasute titles.

The skill ceiling is absurdly high due to how accuracy works. Basically you first learn how to pass, then combo and fullswing at various speeds and angles, and lastly acc. The long term competetive enjoyment of the game really depends on if you enjoy the acc grind in the "endgame" stage, but it takes about 400-700h to even consider taking it into account when playing. Accuracy is about hitting the notes to the middle, which requires both aiming and timing.

The thing about accuracy is that getting the full 15 points consistenty is practically impossible on anything more complex than this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlFHw8r1LC0 and even that took easily more than few hundred hours of specialized grinding to achieve. This means that you can pretty much deepen your acc skills at any speed or complexity, giving all types of score based play their depth. There's also the challenge play where you just go for passes on increasingly stupid maps, which is completely different spread of skillsets from going for high acc on normal maps.

Competetive Beat Saber isn't too interesting since the best players are simply too good compared to others in their niche, so unless there's tracking errors or similar the winners are predictable.

>>42131229
Combo does matter some, but at high level misses aren't the norm since note hitboxes are fairly big. Also outaccing with more misses is common.

>>42131233
It isn't strictly a rhythm game, but you do need proper timing if you want to acc consistently.

Found some five year old posts over there.

>Some people are confused about what's happening at the Bemani department, after people figured out that Konami started to censor inhouse artists, as well as their names especially, from appearing in public media. This doesn't affect credits seen in-game at all, as it's a certain standard that Konami always meets in crappy situations like this (see MGS5).

>Here's an ultra short recap of why this is happening and what it may cause:

>No one knows what's happening at all, there are two rumors flying around at the moment. Whatever it is, what happened is BAD and it is possibly if not definitely catastrophic for Bemani as a whole.

>It's a situation that has started since mid 2017 and has only gotten much worse in these October weeks, so chances that in the future things will become better again seem very uncertain. When Konami begins to censor its employees, it means that a red line has been crossed and won't backpedal about it. The way how it's unfolding is no different than the Kojima drama.

>Artists may either leave the company permanently (not an instant process from what I know) or some of them will just be moved to another division. Given how some artists are acting differently on social media (i.e. nekomata going to play a solo piano live in a friend's restaurant), the former option seems more likely to be true due to how certain Konami employees are so restricted in what they can do.

They also edited the end of the video to シュッパツシンコウ・シサカンコ in Resident to not have the departing message appear at the end either.

Either way, it's not good news but it's not something that hasn't happened before.

It's my firm belief that IIDX is a musical instrument and I want literally as many songs as possible playable on it. It's 2023 and AI is showing increasing capability in everything, so I want to find a way to give an AI algorithm any kind of source - any music game file, any song period, really - and have it generate 7K and 14K IIDX style charts from it.

I also would want to make a BMS program for VR.

That's what I want. I'd do it myself if I had the time and brains to do it, but I don't.

Crossbeats were a missed opportunity. Had Capcom actually spent money on licenses (like the budget bog-standard ones for rhythm game like Bad Apple, Conflict, Night of Nights etc.) to draw new players it might have had a chance.

No. I don't want to have to choose which program to run to either play only IIDX songs or only BMS songs. There's no reason why I should have to make that kind of choice.

ZIV says a singular place in the US has it. Even if R1s started getting them they would be offline since it's a Sega game and Sega uses America as an arcade hardware landfill rather than a potential market.

Out of all the modern games that are playable at R1 today, how many of them are actually played by children who don't fail out instantly and constantly?

I've never seen anyone younger than adult age play any music game at R1 and not just flail about like an absolute mongoloid retard and fail everything. Maybe except DanceAround, but that's basically impossible to fail in playing.
