It's been a while and I only see a "low level/effort" drawthread, so why not make one for any skill level.

Starting with myself, I made a Meiling drawing with the swimsuit design being redrawn from another older Meiling I did, years ago.

Non artist here so I will try to review this with my limited vocabulary. Your art style is very generic and I prefer flat chest, so it's not for me. With that said the lighting, tone, and anatomy seems to be on point. This is one of the best anon drawings I've seen on 4chan. I didn't know we had artist this good.

WTF is going on with the white shirt though. It doesn't match the quality of the rest of the drawing. It looks like it's not finished or drawn by a lessor artist, whereas the rest of it looks like it was drawn by an art god.

The necklace and beach cardigan, along with some other parts were rushed as I didn't really want to work on it anymore and get it finished fast before Christmas. It's true I don't know enough to communicate what I think about it. But I do know his art style doesn't move me emotionally because it looks kind of generic to me if that makes sense. But from a technical point of view, I'm very impressed by it. You can practically feel the warmth of the sunlight from the image. It looks photo realistic. It's definitely one of the best drawings I've seen on 4chan.

TL:DR I think im progressing in drawing, but i feel somewhat lost. Any good programs or guides to keep one on track learning specific useful drawing skills?

Long version:
Does anyone have a sort of guide or program they follow to learn drawing. Would especially love if its Japanese leaning.
I've really gotten into drawing, its fun and I want to get good at it. Preferably with trying to emulate a more anime-y or japanese style.
Its just hard to know 'what to do'. I've been drawing all sorts of random crap, trying to practice perspective and shading etc.
I drew my hands from a bunch of perspectives, i've tried to draw human figures based off my pretty deep anatomy knowledge (I studied several doctor level anatomy subjects as electives while at Uni). And every item in my room
I think my skills are improving, but when i cant draw something quite how i imagine it its hard sometimes to figure out why or what to do.

So by 'guide' i mean for example. I'm learning Japanese, i started first by completing all the Rosetta stone program for Japanese, Then i started Anki and have been progressing through that for a couple months. Both of these have a well designed structure and building up of skill levels in both vocabulary and grammar. I want something like that for drawing. Where it guides you to practice something specific for a bit, then moves you on to the next skill and slowly builds your overall talent.

Attaching a drawing of mine so im not a complete mooch.
First real attempt at a drawing I've done as an adult (and over 10+ years), and never really was much of a drawer as kid, though did enjoy it.
I know overall its pretty flat and simple, but I'm happy with the attempt given how little drawing I've ever done. Had my Saber figma as a guide and drew with random greylead i had, then scanned to computer to clean it up and colour it (had no colour pencils).

Haha true. I have heard that before. Certainly not a bad advice as i do feel like im progressing somewhat, having been basically doing just that.
But I just feel like a little more guidance in what to draw, even if not necessarily exercises in a vacuum. Because for the things i cant do yet and even for some of the improvements, i can't really figure out the what or why, so progress feels a bit random.
That's why i think some sort of structure to what im doing would be helpful.
I consider myself fairly creative in the ideas department, but when it comes to learning things i like to have quite clear steps. I just want to acquire the skill of drawing and then draw characters i like. I'm not into 'art for expressing oneself' in the metaphorical sense, thus im not so good with the sort of 'just feel it out and figure out whats going on' that the 'just draw' somewhat hinges on. Thats tough for me (at least in this sense, physical/sport wise that works for me).
I appreciate the link, ill give that a watch, im sure some of the theory will help.

There's a difference between getting strong and becoming a bodybuilding weightlifter. Just pick up heavy shit and put it down again until you get tired, and you will get stronger. Just draw and, if nothing else, you will become faster and consistent. "Look at shit when you draw instead of drawing from memory" might be worth adding though.

My end goal is drawing my favourite anime/game characters. Fate, Blue archive and GuP especially. I have attempted a few drawings of each of them. heck the pic i attached earlier literally is one.

Everyone learns in different ways and in all sorts of different paces. For me, I learned from drawing fanart of characters I liked and expanding my visual library from analyzing images I liked, in specific ways. For example, for my Meiling, the main focus was rendering. Particularly the light particles. So, I tried rendering and figuring out what would work best while also studying pictures. Sometimes I just "wing it" when it comes to art, too. I just try to do what I think looks good enough to me.

Watch videos of people that are good at rendering and try to imitate.
I'm subscribed to a few Fanboxes of artists and they post their timelapses, tips and psd/clip files. Some of them have merged layers and some of them are the unedited file. You can then dissect them and absorb their secrets

Some artists even have youtube channels with speedpaints or also stream their work process. I recommend you the Naoki Saitou yt channel, he has subtitles for most languages and several tutorials, tips and image fixing he does.

There are also more expensive courses like the Coloso ones but those are for when you are already good at drawing.

You can also get the /ic/ torrent which has a few pirated paid courses on general fundamentals and skills.

I have tried a few. You can check what they upload before subscribing so that you know that you are getting something that interests you. Some upload their .psd/.clip with merged layers, so you have to figure out how he rendered that without revealing their tricks of the trade. Example: Their eyes are merged into 1 layer, so you can't dissect it into the layers that make up the eye, but you can isolate it if you want to achieve something similar by yourself.
Others don't care and just uplaod unmerged layer psds and you can fully dissect and imitate their techniques, layer for layer, and see how they rendered. I think both have their merits but one of them is easier to extract knowledge out of it.

Scottie - Rendering tips, timelapses and PSDs w merged layers. Uploads a lot of material very frequently. Good value

Parsley - Pro artist. PSDs with unmerged layers. Very low cost for the quality you get. Posts unfrequently but what he uploads is very good. I have learned a lot from his material

B-Pang - Brown girls. A lot of psd's and brown girls. Has been uploading for years. PSDs with unmerged layers. If you wanna draw delicious brown girls this is the best value you'll ever get

Torino - Pro artist. Merged layers PSD and HQ versions of his images. You can learn how he uses Blender to create ez detailed backgrounds which is what surprised me the most.

Kyusoukyu - Cute 2hus. Drawing and rendering tips, timelapses, and psds with merged layers. I really like how he renders hair.

uuuuzan - I have loved this artist for years so the fact that he made a fanbox has me very happy. PSDs with unmerged layers. Also uploads videos to youtube with the detailed process.

I am not subscribed to all of them at the same time by the way, but those are the ones I have tried that I have good things to say about. I download everything they have uploaded, keep the subscription going for 2-3 months as a thanks, then unsubscribe to keep exploring other artists.

Also a note. When a H-artists uploads PSDs, that often means that whatever variants he made of that porn image will be toggleable on the PSD. That means that it's not meant for learning how to render, but it's a PSD that you use as fapping material. I made the mistake of subscribing to a few H artists to learn how to render and realized that they weren't meant for you to study them but to fap to them. Some of them do upload unmerged PSDs that you can dissect, but it's not the norm.

The melody is decent I think, it could be a good song. Just making it all come together is hard. I dunno if everyone else has this, but whenever I do creative stuff and some idea of what was in my head exists IRL, I get this feeling like it's amazing, then revisit it hours later and it's way worse than I remember lol
Another tricky thing is if you relisten too much in the rough draft phase stuff kinda gets locked into place. The temptation is to relisten a bunch since you enjoy it, but the more you do it, the more you lose the ability to be critical and rework it. I dunno if it happens to people besides me though

It was a compliment according to my tastes then i suppose. I'm not generally into the really over the top implausible proportions. Though actually size wise these are pretty damn huge, but something about how they are drawn seems more plausible than most hyper giant boobs? idk, kinda how it seems to me at least.
But yeah, you have drawn this already massive size very well, and I just looked up shuz (and refresher on who kyoushinja was). i think you have emulated the feel of their boobs quite well actually.
I think theres something about the style of all 3 of you that makes the unbelievable boobs somewhat believable. Personally it makes for a really good "holy moly look at those boobs" without the uncanny valley i get from a lot of hyper boob art.
Also you have really captured the cuteness in the face amazingly, that expression is adorable. I really was not even slightly expecting a Hanae alt over some other characters, but she ended up super cute. Seems ypu quite like her, so thats a big win for you.

The only issue I've hard with Clip's timelapse system is it pauses recording whenever you have a 3D layer active. Which can sometime jump over hours of planning from my workflow.
