Sure, maybe but it wouldn't make sense for them to specifically comment on my intonation unless they thought it was good. I'm on a different team now where I have to fully use Japanese and one coworker commented how I've improved a lot over the past few years and the second coworker said "your intonation is like a native." I've been having trouble remembering grammar.
I'm reading stuff but I can never make sense of it because of the grammar. I understand the kanji and the basic sentence structure, but without the grammar I only have a vague and often incorrect comprehension of what I'm reading.
Should I make anki cards on grammar rules? Is there a deck already out there?

you don't need to remember grammar, there are decks, but they wont help you
everyone asks that question and everyone gets the same answer and it satisfies noone, but it is the only answer there is:
listen more
read more
doesn't matter what, one day, japanese will make sense to you the same way english or whichever other languages you speak does.
just google the grammar points as you find them (whatever + 文法, or whatever + grammar), you generally will only have to do so a few times anyway
good luck bro

If you actually believe this then I genuinely recommend that you get treated for autism. Not every compliment has the opposite meaning. If so, are Japanese people telling girls and children that they're ugly when they say かわいい? are they saying food tastes bad when they take a bite and say 美味しい? of course there are situations where people give empty comments but reality isn't as simple as "every compliment is actually an insult, and every insult is actually a compliment."

And I already said that based on the context it doesn't make sense for it to be an empty compliment. We spoke in Japanese the whole time. I haven't seen them for a while because we're on different teams and haven't been to the office. They said I've improved. When there were cases where I didn't understand something they explained it in Japanese. They wouldn't have done that if they thought my Japanese is ass, and when other foreign staff don't understand something they just switch to English because they know the other staff are actually ass at Japanese.

You're either autistic and actually believe your claim, or you're just mad that another anon is getting good at Japanese and you want to be the only gaijin in the village and the rare magical unicorn who's so impressive for learning the language unlike those other heathen gaijin.

yes but hard and strongly UNRECOMMENDED unless you have a job where you have lots of little spots of dead time to fuck around on anki but no tiem to immerse
the more new cards per day, the more you run into diminishing returns and then eventually it crosses over into "I would be learning more words daily if I was actually reading and listening right now instead of grinding my 40th new card of the day"
remember especially early on you learn way more words per day than your daily new cards, anki is a supplement mostly for acquiring kanji and readings faster

all those old cards are completely worthless now cause most of the words were so common that you passively review them every day without seeing a card, but that is theperiod when doing a bajillion vocab reviews a day is actually easy and useful.
