Why is it so hard to get a job /jp/? Why can't society just let this NEET go on the road to recovery? Or is schooling really the only way out? Even normal people are finding it difficult to find jobs, how the hell is a failure like me supposed to get hired? Out of around 15-20 applications, only 1 called back, and I never got the job. ;_;

You only need the following: internet, a closet to live in, electric, (maybe) a bathroom, and rice. You might not even need internet if you can just get wifi.

Three days before starting there I went there and first greeted everyone. There was this one guy who seemed to have trouble with his PC so pretty much everyone stood there in one place. Convenient. But it was a small office anyway. After knocking I entered his own little office thing and told him my name and that I'm the new guy.
He laughed at me, "Oh yeah, I hired the son of a friend of mine so we don't need anyone else."
>"Couldn't you have atleast called me?"
"Didn't I?"

Almost all the other half is job agencies that are practically playing with job applicants. Making them go through a lot of exhausting interviews to either give them the job(shitty job dont forget that) or crush their hopes. After all that trouble for a job, the salary is not enough to live a proper life. And the grass is not too greener on the other side. Normal "real" jobs are still bad, requiring you to work extra hours or get fired(there is no court for abused workers here). And getting lawsuit over them is only going to get you moneysucked(corrupt system) if you ever had money in the first place. The salary if somewhat better, still doesnt give you much and forces you with all its strength, to save and do some magic(own business, etc), to cover those "extra" expenses.

She called me into her office once and asked me what "Excel" was. This woman was supposed to be in an executive level position managing our data feeds. One day she has to go to the hospital for some emergency procedure and is gonna be out for a month or something.

Fast forward to a few weeks later, one of the programmer guys I'm friends with says "dude, have you noticed that there is literally NOTHING that isn't getting done because of ____'s absence?"

This is why you don't call the office, do you?

PROTIP: Instead of JUST sending applications to people who are offering jobs, PHONE UP RANDOM COMPANIES and ask if there are any jobs available. THEN send applications to those companies who consider it.

PHONE FIRST, APP AFTER.

Spam as much applications as you can. Trust me, SOMEONE is bound to like you.

Probably. (I managed it after a couple of months, hey!)

Speaking as someone who worked as a government call center for a helpline for over half a year...

Its a pretty awesome temp job. No, really. Its amazing how easy it is.

All i had to do was answer calls on how to use a website.

Okay its not that easy because :

-You need to learn how to work the system, and in my case i did not have special access rights or anything, so the only things i could see was LESS than what the customer could see(since they had customer rights, and i didnt)

-You are eventually going to lose your patience with dumb fucks. I consider myself a VERY patietn person and i still lost my patience a couple of times. Good thing i didnt get fired though.

Honestly, i observed how things went for a couple of days, then was given my own PC and winge dit from there onwards. It took some time to get familiar with the system, but that was okay.

Hours were decent, pay was good too...$8 an hour. I spent most of my time surfing websites(couldnt surf 4chan though). Only busy itmes were when some servers went down and there were non stop calls from people bitching.

Dickheads. Unrelenting dark swarms of them. They don't care about you, they don't care about business they care only about how they can profit from it.

"Well no shit, right?" Yeah, right, no shit, of course they want what's best for themselves. At first you just shrug it off 'this job is hard i guess' and the like. Imagine picking up the phone every day and having to listen to about 2 minutes of passive aggressive whine and angst from some cunt who didn't get his product because you couldn't contact him to get payment for his product BECAUSE HE HAD GONE HOME EARLY. Is it his fault? Fuck no. It's your problem. Not the companies. YOUR problem, personally. Do the company hold themselves accountable? HA HA HA. FUCK NO! ヾ( ̄∇ ̄=ノ☆

So while it's not some guy on the other end of the phone screaming his head off it's this horrible feeling of; you're fucking shit at your job, you're worthless to the company and to the world, you can't please any customers, why are we still paying you to be here? Oh and then the managers start breathing down your neck.

"Why aren't you making any calls? Your call time is too low." They only care about outgoing calls, so any incoming calls for orders/ people complaining and people needing help with stuff (you know, the stuff that actually takes time?) You don't get counted for, they don't care, fuck i've had small portions of my pay docked because i can't keep up with their standards.

Jobs are so stupid, what do you want to be admired or known for? Discovering the answer to a scientific mystery? Or bagging groceries?

See, jobs aren't a problem in towns that have a shitload of business and chain stores. Chain stores and corporations like Wal-Mart and Target are almost always hiring. They start you above Min. Wage and have plenty of positions open.

The problem is, small towns like mine has legislation that prevents those stores from coming in. For example my town wants to "preserve the tradition of the rural town" and denied a DQ and a Target from coming in. There is NOTHING here.

Same shit here. I mean, if there would be alot of these cute little stores where you can chat with that old hag behind the counter while pondering between two apples and search for the one who looks more delicious and then you go into the next store which just happens to be around the corner and buy yourself some tasty looking vegetables, but yeah. I don't have any experience, sure. But I am only 18, wait, 19 now. Where am I supposed to start?

I know for a fact that I know how to cook better than any chain restaurant (Olive Garden, or Chillys or some shit) "cook/chef."
You don't even have to know how to cook in places like that, all they do is warm the food up, at most.

I can't even get a server position in any of these places.
