Kind of a VN slump. I tried re-playing Muv-Luv Alt, kind of lost interest after the PTSD arc (I forget just how much time you spend plodding through reems of exposition dialogue). Before that I tried to get into Majikoi but DAAAAAMN is it boring, this is NOT in any way the equal to Tsuyokiss, so far a giant, bitter disappointment, almost as disappointed as I was with Eternity Sword 2. Got into Rance until about 25% of the way through and lost interest as I realized how simple-minded the gameplay was and there was no story to plod through it for worth talking about.

I tired to like Little Busters EX...couldn't take the boredom, and the humor feel flat with me. At some point I would have been more happy with ghost fox loli girls then the lukewarm "comedy" slice of life junkfood so many found inexplicably "entertaining".

I've recently begun Oretsuba based off of recommendations that this is different from all the other Navel games (which I refuse to play as a rule due to being cookie-cutter filler mass-market shit), and I'm too early in to call it a waste of time or not.

Umineko, the go-to game for a few years now, released a disappointing and short ep.6, although even when it's bad it's still good.

Waiting for Looseboy's collaboration to come out. Waiting for Muv-Luv Total Eclipse.

While I'm ranting, what's up with these girls in eroge that don't love the main character enough? A LOT of them I get the feeling they're attracted to the main character, but don't really have deep/meaningful feelings for him. It's like, YOU have to constantly worry about and think about about THEIR problems, but this is never reciprocated, and if it is, it's only at a superficial level. Like the PTSD arc in Muvluv...where was all the incoming emotional support from the main character's supposed love interests...? Nowhere. Visits and vigils? Nope. You had to go chase after THEM...wtf? Wow, useless bitches.

And Sharin no Kuni, these chicks don't seem to comprehend that Keichii saved their lives through life-long psychological trauma, physical abuse since childhood, and throwing away all his ambitions to do the right thing, against insane odds...and I just don't get the feeling they are sufficiently worshipful for this. Not once did any of those girls try and help Keiichi with his problems, it was all one-sided.

When I first started Rance, I didn't have tremendously high expectations because I knew it was going to be a lot of comedy, but it turned out to be entirely comedic, and so therefore the rapes, semi-rapes and just sex amounted to no more than just fantasy porn. If there's no realistic human feelings behind it, then it's useless to me.

Alternative isn't really about Takeru being love-love his harem, you have Extra for that. I'd hate it if it had took a "let's lick our wounds together and cry ourselves to sleep" direction. Was better than expected. Ended up using the flowchart after beating it once though, just to make sure I don't accidentally end up on the same path as first time. Only done Arceid so far, which felt more or less fitting as a first path.

Can't confirm or deny that.

I ended up on Akiha at the breakpoint first and decided that I might as well start over since I had mixed the two during my hunt for the classmate girl (Which I assume can't be gotten a happy end with).

After starting over I ended up on Hisui path at the fork. So either you need to just have passed the fork first, or you never had to do Akiha to begin with.

Which I assume means you can't get her path unless having done more for her than her sister, as well as cleared Hisui first.

Lately I have been playing Ikusa Megami Zero, about half way trough probably. It has been pretty good so far and the gameplay mechanich is suprisingly good. Altough I haven't even finished Zero yet I'm looking already foward to Verita, as the rest of Zero probably won't disapoint me.

Stick with Oretsuba. I know the first chapter is very very painful to go through when you're still lost at what the fuck type of story Oretsuba is trying to tell but it picks up very quickly in chapter two and three, especially in three you slowly begin to realize the gimmick of the story (unless you were spoiled already about it). Nothing like reading it for the third and fourth time and still finding little hints all over the place. But if by the middle of chapter three and you still don't like it, then you should probably give up then. Great humor, great cast, great protagonists, great heroines, great writing, but it still isn't for everyone.

Personally the only problems I had with the pacing was during the first part of chapter 2 (the old men talking, though it may have been because I wasn't that into Muramasa at that time) and a few scenes in Ichijou's route when they visit the castle.

Otherwise I didn't have any problems, I loved how the battles were done too.
I guess the scenes are all pretty long but the characters are so damn entertaining that it's a joy to read.
How could you be bored by the Sayo-Kanae combi or Rokuhara being awesome for example ?
