My main gripe is rather Konami removing beginner charts (Colors had its beginner chart removed in CB) or not bothering porting existing beginner charts from the PS2 CS games at all, especially for the songs with SPN rating 5 (like Colors Y&Co remix).

Strictly speaking it isn't, but timing is an essential skill for the game. If you want to get high accuracy you need to be able to hit the notes consistently on time to even get the baseline needed to hit the center consistently. Since the note center moves you need to both time and aim your hits at the same time.

If you want the full arcade game or even the monitor/pads bundle I'm pretty sure you can just be put on a wait list and get it without rushing the buy page on a single chosen day.
As for the machine I like it personally. I'm assuming it was done to attract the normie arcade owner who only has redemption/Raw Thrills games since nowadays in the west you need something extremely large there like Halo Fireteam or whatever. The pad was probably the first step to that since you can do cool effects like this.
