4162148 No.4162148 [Reply] [Original]

Well, this is my first time making one of these so it'll probably be a bit hit and miss. Anyone who can do better please feel free to take over. I'm quite bad to be honest, so please be gentle.

First up is Mystic Square (PC 98 is okay, right?), full run, score based. All difficulties and characters open.

Rules for Mystic Square:
1. Default settings (No more than the set lives, no slow mode etc.)
2. No second chances once you've completed/Game Over, but you may restart as much as you like

Time limit will be determined by the number of entries.

I'm sure you're already aware of Yuyuko's third and fourth spell as grazing hotspots. Throw in the circling method for Deadly Dance and the rest is just aggressive grazing. And some bombing, but I don't know how large of a difference it made. Tried a few for Youmu's opener because of how packed the bullets are near the end of the wave.

A run to give a general idea of what's to be done. If you can consistenly align yourself next to Yuyuko for her first spell then the laser grazing probably comes out on top.

On second thought, probably not going to do Marisa A runs today but your points are correct. Still, there's a reason why you see Reimu B as the character of choice for EoSD Extra speedruns. You actually have to rethink the way spells work to get ahead of Marisa A who merely has to stay aligned with the boss.

Next one isn't a speedrun, but he does end a few attacks even sooner. Notably, Catadioptric and Counter Clock.
