I played Kira Kira, I liked it.

Nothing, it's a great VN.
It doesn't have powerlevel or eye cancer inducing fanservice characters so don't expect a lot of replies.

>> No.4147358

Play it again. Then, play it again. Then, watch the Tsukihime anime.

Kira Kira is actually pretty popular on /jp/. I never understood why. It's nothing special.

Kira Kira does what it tries to do really well.

Personally I never understood why something filled with flaws like FSN was so popular but it's not like I really care.

if anything is "special" /jp/ translates that to "different", which they think is bad.

Nothing, actually.
I'm not sure why I posted this.
I'll be back in half an hour, I need to think.

Kira Kira have a multiple personality disorder as the first half is about starting a band and how they deal on the music world as the second half is DORAMA that I am fucking sick and tired of and sticks up as a sore thumb compared with the lightness tone of the first half.

So no, it does not do it very well ...

>Horrible translation
This has kind of been the reason for why I haven't read it yet.
It's also kind of the reson for why I never read Cross+Channel, as Ixrec apparantly have made lots and lots of rather bad mistakes in it.

>> No.4147453

>>4147428
The drama in Kira Kira isn't forced at all or whatever you think it is.
From the beginning to the end, it's a coming of age story.
The fact that it goes deeper in the second half is normal for that sort of story.
And it's never overtly dramatic, even the big event in Kirari's normal route wasn't the focus of that route.
The focus was Saejima's being at the crossroad of his life, having to choose between continuing his childlike life or becoming an "adult".

In term of narrative, Kira Kira is actually surprisingly solid.

I'd disagree with that. It seemed like the type of game I would love but in the end I thought it didn't deliver at all. I guess it's a matter of opinion.

Why not try Yume Miru Kusuri as long as you stay out of Mizuki's route.
People might try to say that it's horrible or just not good for various reasons but just ignore them.
On second thought you might as well try Family Project though.

There is a fixed version out.

I dropped the original release after 5 minutes, but the fixed version seems better so far, though there are still many grammatical errors. Also, I think the translation is bad/too localized. It's funny to hear one thing from the characters and read something different which lazily conveys it's meaning.

>> No.4147521

Kiraris normal end was a lot better in terms of development than her good end.

>> No.4147552

>>4147502
Well her interpersonal theme doesn't seem to be all that well liked, and the whole "OH it's like I am really READING A NUKIGE" present in her route isn't really helping her either.

Its forced on the sense its just switch tone, say all you want from FS/N but the overall tone remains overall the same.

There is no transition, it just drops into DORAMA and its not a coming of age story, its the usual BS of adding drama to the mix..

>> No.4147893

>>4147839
I guess, but I remember people from TLWiki discussing and analyzing his translation and while it is of acceptable quality for most parts, there are also parts were he didn't only just make some mistake but in fact translated some parts so that it gave of an entire different meaning and on some occasions almost the opposite.
Most likely due to him speedTLing but the fact that his general skill isn't the best either might have something to do with it as well.

So my impression of his translations is basically that his overall quality seems to be of ok qualtiy but that he sometimes messes up completely on certain pieces as opposed to just doing some mistakes.

I never really liked the sound of that, thus I never started Cross Channel, but I guess that I should read it sometime, I did look forward to the day that I could finally read it long before Ixrec started his translation.

In the near future.

In a not so distant place.

There exists a society where law is based upon deterrence and criminals are assigned "obligations" fitting for their crimes.

Within this society, a man named Morita Kenichi aspires to the position of Special High Class Individual, one who holds authority over said criminals.

For the purpose of fulfilling his ambition, Kenichi returns to the town he once called home. There he will encounter three girls bearing "obligations" and there he will encounter the past he left behind.

Won't you join him in this story about how people relate to their society?

In this story about how a society relates to its people.

In this story about the girl amid the sunflowers growing in the country spinning like a wheel.
