Is it just me, or does male saber look almost exactly like Gilgamesh?

Did you mean Saver?

Did you mean Savel?

Saber is "Seiba", not "Seubaru".
It'd be Saver.
You know, like in OP? It says "Archetype saver" right there.

Japanese make distinctions between some similar consonants (k and g, p and b, ch and j, etc) but not between some others (r and l, b and v).

In those cases it might be anything, like Rance would probably have been Lance if not for "L" defaulting as "R" in romanizations.

You'd have to ask the creators.

That's a pretty bad idea, a Japanese person is the worst possible source for information on proper romanizations.

I mean, about what the meaning they originally wanted for the name.

"Is the name based on a curved sword or the activity of saving people?" or some such.

It's true that they're horrible at romanization. It's one of the reasons they always mess up R and L: they blindly follow the standard romanization rules.

Not this shit again.

That actually would make a lot of sense, because it would be some sort of penis joke.
