But I don't think so... this group is overrated.

Three of them captured by holy church before Tsukihime remake.
+ no.7 Einnashe, no.20 Chromeclay, no.25 Beze and no.18 Vlov(Ciel route) killed by Ciel.
Total: Seven of them killed/captured by holy church and Ciel.

Powerlevel wankery was always the least important part of the lore. People obsessed with it are like those eva fans who spend years mulling over the in-universe lore rather than concentrating on the actual meat and potatoes of the story, the themes, the characters, how they interact, the plot itself, aesthetics, etc. Does knowing that Arc has more energy than the sun enhance the story in any way, really?

While admittedly I do like Arc being confirmed strongest since Nasu always claimed she was despite never fully explaining why I feel like this also adds another element of discussion beyond power levels. It helps not only Arc but also Roa. It really explains why he is so obsessed with her, since now it's pretty clear Arc has something that puts her on equal foot with Eternity hence his infatuation with her. Which also ties into his Pantheon ritual he wanted to enact back on France along with the ritual grounds found in Souya.
This is genuinely one of the most intriguing points introduced in the remake and I seriously expect this to take center stage whenever Arc's true comes out.

The production values are higher but you got to admit it's not a whole different experience compared to the manga and OG in that regards. Higher production values won't enhance the romance, so you can't really blame people for discussing the flashy fights and cool effects, which ARE enhanced by the higher budget.
The relationship aspect was already good as far as the writing experience goes. I want to see how the true end is handled though, the manga one could have been a bit better if it was expanded a bit further.

Arc remake is way better than the OG. Ciel's route has more drastic changes so it overshadows it. A lot of shit about Arc in the original isn't even revealed in her own route. It actually happens in Ciel's route. It's really weird and bizarre; the remake moves that kind of stuff to Arc's route where it belongs.

It's true the relationship was already Kino but it comes across even better in RE. I like the impact the manga had especially with the rooftop jumping kino. The effects, voice and music really does enhance that. The backalley cosplay shoot was so fucking THEM too. And how her image gets blurry was a great touch. Those adorable dorks. I really like the refrain refrain future dream connection too. Really sells the destined aspect of the couple and expands on the dream concept/what if's that's so important to not just Shiki and Arc's relationship but the Planet as we see from the worldbuilding mats.

I like the vibe, the mood, the atmosphere, etc. I just really don't see how all of these stories together are supposed to constitute one complete and internally coherent whole. How does Shiki and Mikiya's romance fit into this weird conflict between Shiki and Souren? Not that anon but even I as a fellow Nerofag have to admit that he's underutilized, killed off too early on, and not particularly fleshed out as you see him in the VN. What people usually mean by Nero being a better character is that his design is fantastic (Vlov is 2generic4me even if Nasu said that's intentional - pretending to be retarded is still being retarded) and his skillset is very unique and interesting (or would be interesting, if it was utilized well).

I guess we're just waiting for his time to shine, because he has so much potential, yet he was never utilized well so far, not even in the original VN. With Roa, Vlov, possibly Arc going nuts again, and possibly loli noel hogging the spotlight, it's hard to believe that Nero ALONE is going to get the supposed heightened bigger role if he's just in one route and dies in that same route. All the other aforementioned villains will have to be unceremoniously downplayed or killed off and there's no guarantee of that. Even worse how it's no guarantee he's going to be THE final boss. It's the making of wasted potential.

Yeah. Spoilers ahead by the way, don't say I didn't warn you.

Up until now I thought Ciel's route was overall weaker than Arcueid's. I always preferred Arc compared to Ciel and here is no different.

After the fight with Vlov you're tricked into believing that Arc just killed Roa and what's left is cleaning up the small fry vampires left. The Vlov fight itself was obviously a highlight but after that I feel the middle part was very protracted for what it was. I get it, you need to establish some tension between Arc, Noel and Ciel for the latter events of the route to make sense, but there came a point where I was getting a bit tired of Shiki believing Ciel was gonna disappear forever only for her to turn up at school like nothing (seriously it happened like three times? I already got she's important to Shiki, no need to repeat it).

And then after that there was the twist with Noel being a survivor of the massacre in France. That entire fucking sequence, man. The Ancestors above the walls, the absolute goddamn massacre in the village, Ciel possessed by Roa, the dynamic between Noel and Ciel, the fight...

So yeah, I'd have to say emotionally this part topped damn near everything in Arcueid's except the very end, and I still have the two endings left.

I don't know, I guess my impression is that Ciel's route in the remake is uneven. There's a very protracted and slow middle part but the payoff is shaping up to be incredibly big. God I love this game. I'm already hyped as hell for the Far side routes and I haven't even finished the Near Side.

The Far side was a more psychological experience in the original, but I believe when it comes out in the Remake we might get some action scenes to match the Near side...

We have Dr. Arach leaving out spider shaped ghouls (I believe the one that Ciel fought in the school at the end of Arc's route was made by Arach, as well as the one in the apartment complex). Then we have Gouto Saiki, who... I mean come on, you can't be covering your skin like that in the middle of the day and NOT expect me to believe you're a goddamn vampire in this kind of story.

I'll list some of the stuff that happens but it's really the same as usual mostly. Shiki's as strong as he's needed to be and it's highly dependent on his state of mind. He's usually at his best when he's an unconscious assassin and when his body is commanding him to kill. When his rationale gets the better of him in the end of Arc route and he waits too long to attack Roa he gets fucked for example. His killing skill is as usual hyped as a peerless work of art. How he's as equally rare as his eyes. 17ing Arc which is still about as top end and ridiculous as anything gets. Probably even more since vampires can detect thoughts apparently. Dodges Vlov's spear throw while falling and a sword attack midair. The reason for this is probably how he apparently has a specialized body designed for speed bursts and light bones that made Arach question if he was born with the mysterious ability to change his weight and float. Which explains the bizarre nature of the Nanaya techniques I guess and why not just anyone can learn them. Cuts the lines of Vlovs ice bullets including a barrage of like dozens of them. He does it twice and seemed to have less issue the second time. Blows out Roa/SHIKI in the knife fight. Easily could have killed executor Noel. There was that spider ghoul that had enough strength to deflect Arc's claws and harass her, She's weakened though so it doesn't really say anything concrete about its capability, that got yeeted and deleted in seconds. One of its attacks was faster than human perception and ability to evade but that didn't stop him from slicing it. In Ciel route the Vlov fight does a good job of showing Shiki matching the movements of Ciel and how well they function as a unit. The three had a skillful masterful dance. MBTL mentions something similar when Shiki and P.Ciel fight. I find that cute since he becomes her partner and apprentice. He's got the same chuuni death senses like detecting someone around or the most lethal attacks where death is guaranteed. There was also a weird moment when he is able to perceive things happening FAR outside his range of sight. The death of a dead Arc was killing. I always wondered if maybe Shiki had some weird additional perception because of how vivid and detailed the hotel scenes in OG/Remake appear in his mind. Probably the case. As he's approaching Vlov he sees Ciel's swing and understands it's showing him the way and he ends up avoiding Vlov's attack which was too fast for him to dodge in this route by like a millimeter so very good judgement and instincts. Also great at figuring out Vlov's ability despite the fact he's supposed to just be a normie whose all of the sudden facing physics defying super powers. Shiki also pulls off a lot of miracles that should literally be impossible. Like Arc dying when she's something that can't die or turning the 0% to 1% survival chance. Or saving Noel when it was supposed to be a guarantee she'd be killed. They mention how his body moved quicker than his own thoughts could process so even Ciel couldn't stop him in time and goes on to save Noel from having her blood completely sucked and lands a few blows on Vlov. It really made no sense. Shiki's mind just snapped and he goes from being too far away to right upon them before he realized it and we're talking a distance of at least 50 meters when he started running. He's unnaturally calm minded to where it's pointed out how bizarre it is despite fighting nightmare fuel. He sees lines of death on Ciel's barrier that utilizes the IB. He also sees curses take form and the principle of a vampire which seems very conceptual. He does some weird history reading of Vlov where it is described as an invisible light that shouldn't be comprehensible to humans but ends up being understood by him because the light gets perceived as thoughts and language he can understand. His eyes got a new application in Arc route and he spreads out some new lines so when he stabs the point of the hallway it kills the everything including Roa's lower body which was connected. He's also in the process of becoming a DA in Ciel Route so he gets the boost that comes with being a vampire like leaping over 20 meters in the air, super strength and time regeneration. He was able to avoid blows from Arc and counter, and was said to be able to keep up with Ciel as they retreated. This was before he vampirized his body further. He has Roa's memories so he has a lot of knowledge and understanding Tohno Shiki wouldn't naturally have. He also uses some magic though it's mostly to assist in moving and avoiding the atmospheric attacks. Very chuuni ending with him jumping across skyscrapers and slicing air blasts.

Tsukihime is a story about leaving eternity – leaving stagnation and choosing to move forward even though you don’t know what’s coming for you. Themes such as loyalty, honor and sacrifice.

Arcuied and Shiki's relationship is a simple one, being of mutual lust and attraction and isn't a perfect as they fight, argue, and have a lions share of misunderstandings and disagreements throughout her route. Arcueid while naive doesn't fully trust Shiki and more than once calls him a monster early on and gets irritated when he's reluctant to jump into action with her even going as far as to threaten his and his family's life if he doesn't accept working with her and Shiki struggles with his growing attraction to Arcueid, treating her far more cruelly than most characters(san Arihiko) until he comes to terms with those feelings and Arc getting influenced by Shiki's humanity and growing protective of him realizing his fragility but they grow to trust and love one another throughout the course of the route and their parting scene is genuinely one of the best written scenes I've read.

With Ciel they're more equal and mutually tease one and flirt with one another Ciel is investigating and watching Shiki to see if he's Roa and when the revelation is revealed a lot of details of their interactions early in the route become more sorrowful up until their fight in the hallway where Shiki's willing to let Ciel kill him but refuses to die hating her even if everything up until that point between them might have been a lie. There's also the aspect of Shiki (surface level) normalcy is something Ciel wanted but could never have because of Roa's possessing her ruining her life and any semblance of normal happiness she could of

There is also the fact that he's our PoV character so we gotta see the description from his perspective somehow. I don't think it's that literal, isn't Nanaya just Shiki acting out all he has been taught about killing, without the restraint his personality applied on it? I.e it's "automatic" because it comes to him naturally - it's been drilled into him when he was a kid, and he "stops being human" because to current Shiki, doing this is equivalent to giving up his humanity. It's not magical instinct stuff, just training.

They also mention her vast experience in enemy territory so it's likely some executor training/survival training and maybe even some magic to seal off some functions. While she's doing it she has detection magic up at least. It's not related to her brain being destroyed or anything like that. As for Shiki, there is training but it's also that literal. Nanaya have a biological killing impulse that's described as an automatic reaction to inhuman blood. "Nanaya" is his killing impulse and guiding principle. He's a natural born human who specializes in killing in the lore. The killing impulse is why he's overcome and "stops being human". The bad end where he kills Arc makes it very apparent that it's biological. Even his thoughts change to reflect how he views Arc as a disgusting creature to be preyed upon in contrast to the "Me" that cares about her. I don't think it was ever actually explained but logically they developed it through natural selection and/or relating to their Karma powers since they've focused on purely being the best assassins. Kiri was locked in a room before he learned how to speak and just started improving on how to kill. Not having a teacher to restrain him via common sense made it so he would develop techniques before 'being taught' them and mentions he understood this was how to kill as soon as he was born and that was the type of clan the Nanaya were. So definitely a mix of instinct and training.

None of the other clans are like this but none of the others were so singularly specialized that killing mixed-bloods was all they were good for either. You know, lately I've been thinking about the doppelgangers and other alternative versions of certain characters (Shiki/Bad End Nanaya/KT Nanaya/TATARI Nanaya) and after watching the AA arcade mode for Archetype Earth I have to ask, would she share Arcueid's feelings for Shiki? This question in particular bothers me because I'm pretty sure the answer is a simple yes/no but I can't really say which one it would be.
Alternative versions of the characters is a pretty cool topic even if there isn't much to say about them.

From her F/GO voice lines. I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. Though Archetype's nature is kinda weird in that she is some kind of over-monitor position outside of time and multiple worlds axis, which is why she says things like "maybe in the future, maybe in the past".

When does Notes even takes place? Tsuki no Sango takes place in the year 3000, and that's the farthest in the future outside Land of Steel, which should be a far older timeplace.

Answer is yes generally. Characters like W.Len and Nanaya are unused parts of their 'base'/original. There is a reason Len/WLen have that mirror cg and W.Len is soft on normal Shiki. Nanaya also shows affection for Miyako who still views him as Shiki in a way as I recall. Archetype is the same individual as Arc and is her future/past ideal. Shiki recognized her as Arcueid ultimately since being a part of her is the same thing and it's very apparent she loves Shiki whether it be her win quote, Shiki/Nanaya taking less damage from her super, sparing only him(and Ciel), showing up to get revenge since she couldn't control her feels or >>41249122
