I believe most of the random anime girl replacements in beautify are in the user graphics folder as individual sprites. If you delete or move those files it will use the ones from the giant sprite sheet instead, which should generally be a better representation of the npcs. Personally I find it hard to recommend the pack to new players since you are going to have a confusing time unless you are willing to hand pick hundreds of sprites.

Last time I played was before the final bit of plus story was released, and I was a pet master tourist that hit things with a sword.

Welp. My dumb snail adventure has already started out better and worse than I expected. For this run:

Got fucked in port kapul by double cleaners.

Bought literacy.
Tried to read in the wilderness since I plan on doing magic to buff my MA since I never bothered with MA before.

Unironically my biggest issue seems to be getting used to the magic system I always ignored.
Sure potions and rods cluttered my inventory but it only took 2 skill to improve the strength of them.

To answer a few of your questions:
1. Going with a certain god just for their passive bonuses is fine, but the rewards are what most people want. Itzpalt is quite hard to gain favor for in comparison to some of the other gods. Browse the favor awards for each god and see what ones might benefit you. I like to rush Yacatect for her item, which gives monthly platinum, and her weapon, which reveals invisible creatures. Jewelry is everywhere and you can gain favor very, very fast.
2. You have a limit of two God Pets, but this cap increases with your faith (1/10 of faith). If you change gods, you get to keep the pet. Switch away.
3. I prefer to get Shop since it allows you to sell equipment for full price (it's a 95% penalty otherwise). I just buy a slave with decent charisma in Derphy and assign him to run it. Dump all my junk in it when coming back from dungeons.
4. You get to keep god weapons even after switching gods. This has not changed as far as I know, you would have to show me where on the wiki you saw that.
5. The best animal to breed is whatever animal you need. Putits breed quickly and can be used to make putitoro. Early on I like breeding any monster with high breeding power if only for access to lots of corpses, eggs, and milk. Hermit crabs drop a great early game necklace. If you already have it, theyll drop stardust instead which can be used to power up your equipment.

Been playing it the past few weeks, it's okay. The base elona experience is there, but there are many tiny little gacha things that add up and make me hate it a little bit.
Stuff like a lot of things being tied to real time, like some gathering spots and food/sleep timers, dreams being a lot less frequent for some reason, a lot of little new systems mostly made to encourage you buying premium currency, the inventory feels oddly limited and tight(probably because of the billion currencies and misc items the game throws at you), and of course the gacha.
I guess this is expected, but gacha pets and gear are REALLY broken. I pulled a featured red rarity pet(the highest) the other day, and at level 1 without gear she was basically pumping out almost 6x the damage of my own character, with mani's shotgun.
It also has a whole lot of new little quests, some okay, some really bad. All in all, it feels more like a spin-off of elona with gacha elements than elona itself, not much unlike recent versions of + I guess. But it's okay.

Unless you're a pure mage who doesn't want to get close to enemies anyway, it's the best armour spact out of the three. Negating critical hits is weaksauce when you can just Dim or Blind your enemies for reduced accuracy to start with and/or cast Feather and/or Shield Parry, and it doesn't protect you from enemy spacts, especially the Gauge ones that all late game mobs have access to. Plus it's one of the few ways to get Dim resistance and not everyone wants to play a Golem.

The only real downside is the huge hit to spellcasting success, but nothing stops you from using rods and potions in combat and if your buffs last long enough nothing stops you from taking off your gear long enough to cast them all if there aren't any mobs around.

Though keep in mind that the armour spacts affect your pets as well so if you have any caster pets around you can keep them in medium weight so they can benefit from Magic Equip.

Tropy run is kinda fun. Running without pet is kinda annoying in Omake lines because most of the power gaming strats require them and early game is hell.

I'm a newbie to Omake but my main source of gold is from swap trading. From the information that i got from lurking Discord, you can give pet detection, mining to make them give you materials for potion of descent for skill points. The amount they give is small but when you are moving at 10 speed between your shack and Noyel then time isn't an issue. You can also make a lore book to teach pet's bubble harvest and alter their AI to make them cast that. The copies that split from that bubble will cast harvest until magic reaction kick in and kill them. Those sandbag bubble will give you a lot of gold, platinum coins, small medals and maybe a wish rod. You can also eat those bubble to get stocks when you can cast harvest reliably.

Ano added super lure to the blackjack loot table which is pretty dang nice.
Added an item that can give xp to living weapons without using them which is nice.

The bitflag that made things immune to elements now only reduces the damage to 1/50 the original and included magic element too. Debatable.
