Ok /jp/, i have a question : Do you really plan to go to Japan someday?

I was a total normalfag before here.
- Wanted to see a sakura tree on a high hill
- Wanted to see maidens in a cafe
- Wanted to see the true power of 2D

Now i know that you failed if you're a wapanese or american or black (my case) or french (?) or just a stranger (meaning that you'll actually failed no matter what you are )

Has Japan, waifus & 2D been trollin' us THAT bad?

Pic related : My view of Japan

Yes. I doubt i will ever get there though, but i like to think that one day i will be scavenging the Tokyo subway tunnels.

Im a train nerd to the fullest, im not even that interested in Japanese culture or the country itself.

Actually i am very interested about their culture, past and things like that.
But i wonder if the best Japan is actually the one they're drawing more than anything else.

I've heard it's rather like 'England but Asian'. Having grown up in England I know that's something to avoid, if it's true. I guess I might go at some point but really I'm only in /jp/ for /jp/ related topics, not Japan itself.

It's hard to convey really. Everybody has different experiences.

Me personally, I loved every second of living there and want to move back after school. Loved the food, loved the culture, had a lot of great friends.

I've always thought that the Japanese sound a lot like the English as well: quiet, reserved, emotionally repressed socially awkward tea-drinkers who get ridiculously drunk and secretly have lots of weird fetishes.

Maybe it's something to do with island nations that have military histories...

I live in Japan but I still haven't met a miko outside a shrine (where it would be awkward to woo her).
