Does /jp/ keep their figure boxes?
If so, where?
I'm running out of room and need suggestions.
might have to resort to popping seems and flattening them.

Mine is slightly bigger. Its a closet.

>> No.4083927

Always a good idea to keep the boxes.

I have a large bookshelf, and I place most of my boxes there, instead of you know, books. Consider something like that, it's efficient and you look like an idiot.

I keep my figures in their boxes so lol w00t.

Well, to be truthful, only until I get something to display them on. Until then, my horde of Rin Tohsakas stays boxed.

I still have my figs in their boxes, and I keep the boxes in the boxes they came in. I don't know why but I like to keep the whole package of the things I buy online. I still have the piece of cardboard my Kaiji OST came in, with the OST inside. I'm no good at collecting stuff.

Which characters were released for the FRAULEIN series? All I know is there's a delicious Hasegawa I will never get my hands on. I wish I had that Cirno too

>> No.4085108

>>4085013

Same. I don't have room for a display case at the moment, so taking them and putting them on a bookshelf would just get them dusty. I imagine I'd still keep the boxes though when and if I do ever have to room for it. Don't think it really does much for resale value, but I keep the boxes of most things I buy.

Don't know if it's because of anal retentiveness, like most people, but I think I started doing it to rebel against my parents, who threw away the cardboard boxes for the NES games they bought me. Shit traumatized me for some reason.

>> No.4085163

I like to keep the well made ones. I mean they have nice artwork and are really well put together it feels like a crime to throw them out. I keep em stacked up in my walk-in wardrobe, have tonnes of shelving

>> No.4085225

>>4085013

He raises a good point. I respect that it may be your hobby and you enjoy collecting figurines of characters you like and such but the few decent looking figurines I've personally seen online have been £70 or more. I'm not a poorfag or anything but £70+ for something that really only sits there on a shelf doesn't seem worth it to me. But to each their own, I guess.

Actually, it could be said for most things. A lot of people buy useless shit that doesn't have any function, and it falls outside of figurines. Pictures, posters, fountains, flowers and all other sorts of decorative knick-knacks don't serve much purpose other than "look nice". Just about everyone fills their living quarters with them, maybe in an attempt to show visitors their sense of style or just surround themselves with what they like. It's pretty normal behavior, but people really value decorations differently.

Of course, from another perspective, it's all just pleasure seeking for any number of reasons. People spend extra cash all the time on unessential things, all for the sake of releasing endorphines.

You're supposed to buy three! THREE!!!

>> No.4085954

I used to just keep mine on the shelf, behind the figures. After I started running out of space I just started stacking them up in the closet.
I tend to keep the boxes since I like to rotate the figures out and I figure it's best to keep them in the box they came in.

>> No.4085976

My room is full with boxes. Under the bed, next to the closet, on the roof..
Do you people keep the plastic in it or throw those out?
Mixed thoughts, since they'd be handy for moving houses.

>> No.4085979

I pack the boxes into cardboard moving boxes. I put the box of boxes into the closet while it's filling up, and once it's filled it gets marked, cataloged, and goes to the garage. I'll run out of room with this plan, yes, but it works for now.

What the hell man! You already got WIM miku?! I ordered from hobbysearch & it still hasn't arrived ;_; I've heard that her quality absolutely sucked ass though... stuff like bad painting & dents in random places.

I keep them displayed high on shelf, because I think the boxes are both beautiful & well designed. If you are ashamed, put the under a desk. They add color to a normally dark area too.

You might have been a lucky one. A ton of people got bad quality versions... Some had many chips in the hair, and others had it so bad, as the leggings were matte painted, instead of glossy.
