"From foot alone, making men orgasm is possible for this detective, Furudo Erika. What do you think everyone?"

The gathered crowd was stunned into silence as Battler came helplessly into Erika's stockings. She had summoned everyone with the detective's authority, and they could only watch.
Her perfectly constructed footjob had no flaws. Dlanor had ensured that there were no possible exits. And although it completely violated the mood of the situation, there was no one present that could deny the elegance of her argument.

When Battler cried "it's useless!" at the point of orgasm, Erika knew the sanctification of having done a <Good> job.

Of course, I wouldn't say any author could pressure his audience into liking it in some way... It's basically just his opinion. Though he MAY be saying that you just won't ENJOY it like it should be, it's still his opinion.

In the end if you carefully analyze it, Ryukishi comes off pretty pretentious with the "without love it cannot be seen" and Erika. He is basically telling people they shouldn't enjoy the story their way, but his way.

People that subscribe to Jessitrice don't understand the narrative structure of mysteries at all. It's not the "one that you wouldn't suspect" that turns out to be the culprit, unless you're reading something on an Encyclopedia Brown level.

No, the culprit to the mystery is always the most IMPOSSIBLE one. That's why I'm firm in my belief that Beatrice is a person outside of Shannon(/Kanon) or Jessica, because the narrative is trying so hard to make you believe that's impossible while still throwing out hints that exclude them both.

Do you like Ryukishi07?

I've been a big 07th Expansion fan ever since the release of their 2007 VN, Umineko No Naku Koro Ni. Before that, I really didn't understand any of his work. Too dubious, too inconsistent. It was on Umineko where Ryukishi’s presence became more apparent. I think Episode 5 was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding VN, Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni.

Christy, take off your robe.

Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Erica, Bernkastel, and LambdaDelta. You can practically hear every nuance of every troll.

Sabrina, remove your dress.

In terms of locked-room craftsmanship, the sheer mystery writing, this VN hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the disappearance of Kinzo from his study. In this part, Ryukishi addresses the problems of unreliable observers and narration. Battler’s monologue to Beatrice at the end is the most moving scene of the VN, about monogamy and commitment. The scene is extremely uplifting. Their relationship is as endearing and affirmative as anything I've seen in mystery.

Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole.

Ryukishi’s Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially arcs like Onikakushi-hen and Meakashi-hen. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Ryukishi works best within the confines of the mystery genre, than as a fantasy writer, and I stress the word writer.

This is Rudolf, a great, great character, a personal favorite.

The moon arcana just kinda sums up her M.O., which is deception on a grand scale. Besides, MOON-THEORY is catchy. I wish I thought of that buzzword.

But as for motives, there's tons of reasons. Disgust with her family, Kinzo being Kinzo, monetary gains, insanity, the options are endless. Talking like a boy and probably being made fun of for it. Having asthma so you're unable to join any sports teams. A grandfather who grows more and more delusional who would probably notice that jessica is the only person in the story who looks anything like beatrice.

Being a social failure would probably make you come up with a fantasy world to live in thats more bearable. And if Jessica is in love with battler, but battler won't do anything about it because he's not/wasn't a delusional cousinfucker, than maybe that would make jessica also depressed and lead her into more delusions.

Woah, hold on there, that sounds a bit like the Jessitrice theory. But as for me, it just seems like nothing makes Jessica's sketchiness go away. She says Kinzo is clearly alive, and claims to have interacted with him to Battler various times. Considering that Kinzo is dead, we see deception. At first, perhaps one could say that she is cooperating with her parents, but then we get to the situation in episode 4, where her mother is dead, along with most of her family, due to Kinzo. You'd think that she would tell everyone what the deal was with Kinzo if she was helping her parents, but no, she doesn't. She keeps up the facade of Kinzo using magic to kill everyone. And then she makes that phone call to Battler.
Perhaps without that phone call I could understand some of the people who doubt her sketchiness, but that is the straw that breaks the camel's back. She is lying to Battler. And lying for reasons known only to her. Not to help her parents, but to do something. And that deception, that darkness which defines her character, is why I think Moon-theory is somewhat valid.

Whether or not Jessica was in love with Battler in the past is a moot point, as Episode 6 disproves Jessitrice due to the simple fact that Battler said he likes girls with personalities like Jessica's, so if Jessica was the one who created Beatrice, there would have been no need for her to give Beatrice a different personality. Yet the person who created Beatrice specifically said that they were giving her a new personality.

...Beatrice.
Listen carefully.
I will turn over my love for Battler to you.
Become the woman Battler desires.

I will give you the blonde hair he desires.
I will give you the blue eyes he desires.
I will give you the new personality he desires.
And... In place of me, love him.
And if possible, be loved by him.

I can no longer love him.
The feelings I could not obtain...the feelings I could not bear...please obtain them.

From this day forward, you are no longer the phantom of Rokkenjima who only plays tricks.
From this day forward, you are the ruler of Rokkenjima, and the one who waits for him to return until he fulfills his promise.

From this day forward, you will inherit that in my place.
Thus, from this day forward, you are no longer me.

I will push all of my suffering on to you... Please forgive me for being the only one to become happy.

From this day forward, you have the qualifications to detest everything.
You are the Golden Witch, Beatrice.

And someday.
Destroy everything, revive everything.
...Bless all lovers.

At that time.
...For both you and I to find happiness together...I will be wishing for from the bottom of my heart.

From this day on, you are not me.
From this day on, I am not you.
We will divide one soul, and share.
That naturally won't fill up one soul, but. (? not 100% sure about this line)

No, in all likelihood that would have been Shannon. Or rather, the Beatrice personality, after the Shannon and Kanon personalities "died"/were "killed".

Be fair, the moon theory never specified a certain motive. That poster was just bringing up a possible one, among many.
And quite personally, friends who appear in that brief tsuru-pettan scene do not indicate that she is fulfilled socially, but that's really a moot-point.

Please stop saying that is what Moon-Theory is, because it is not. Moon-Theory, at it's core, is due to Jessica's sketchy behavior in game, not due to any thoughts of Kinzo raping her, or lack of friends. Geez, you guys sure like to take one thing and generalize, what part of

Motive? Motive's for sucker detectives. Great detectives like Erika corner the culprit first and then force them into divulging terrible secrets about their past.

We don't need motive to find out the true killer.

ITT: People who hate Shkannontrice are now forcing Jessimoon down everyone.

You know I might as well make a culprit theory for Kyrie because she was the High Priestess or how Kanon can't be the culprit because he's the Hanged Man!

I'm also certain Jessica killed George, but the "Moon Theory" has a lot of holes in it. She's at least an accomplice.

Battler did confirm her death, and it's head split open condition in the Tea Party, though.

so basically, everything can be bullshit at this point, so why not think that we were just led to believe she was class president and natsuhi was pta president? we know atleast one of them has delusions.

But then how did she die back where Battler found her in the tea party? If I recall correctly, half her face was destroyed.

And if you say shotgun, fair enough, but Battler would have to be an idiot to miss the firearm at her feet.

Once again, motive can be Kinzo being Kinzo, it can be disgust with her family, it can be a plot with Nanjo to gain money, it can be many things. But as I've insisted on saying, many times, the motive will never be clear until after you catch the culprit. Even my favorite detective, Hercule Poirot, could only guess what the motive was, but he would find the culprit based on the culprit's inconsistent actions, and then learn, from the culprit or from others, what the motive was.

View it like this: You see a person attempting, or setting up plans to kill a person, do you know why? Naturally you don't, but you know the who and you the how. To know the why you'd need to read his mind.

Ergo, I say the motives can be many things, but the why is not something that can be reached first.

It's like that retarded CSI: Miami. David Caruso's character presents a little evidence, and then the culprit breaks down and explains it all for him.

...Or you could make a culprit theory for Kyrie based on a lot of other, more significant reasons. her position as High Priestess just confirms what we already know: that she's really fucking smart and probably knows a lot more than most people on the island.

Oh, please, shut up you troll. I've said time and time again that Moon-Theory is not based off of the tarot card, and explained the basis of it, so if you are going to continue to treat the people who endorse it as strawman we really won't get anywhere. So basically you have no real motive, but you do have a tarot card. You also have some strange behavior in ep. 4 that can be explained pretty easily.

>> No.4084347

The Moon isn't always represented with negative emotions. It can represent creativity (via Jessica's singing career) and intuition. Hell, musicians, artists and poets are associated with this card.

>Battler said he likes girls with personalities like Jessica's

okay. so far so good.

>so if Jessica was the one who created Beatrice, there would have been no need for her to give Beatrice a different personality.

well, maybe she didn't give her a different personality...

>Yet the person who created Beatrice specifically said that they were giving her a new personality.

Well they're giving her a personality atleast. You can't give a 'new' personality to a being that never had an "old" personality.

>I will give you the blonde hair he desires.
>I will give you the blue eyes he desires.
>I will give you the new personality he desires.

If Battler desire's Jessica's personality, who is the only person who could give a being Jessica's personality?

Perhaps if you look at it from the perspective of a Jessica who can't be in love with Battler for whatever reason (being cousins, can't bear her suffering from whatever so pushes her desires onto beatrice so she can live a normal life, etc.)

I doubt even that can be explained, really. But yes, there is substance in what I, and other people in this thread, have been saying, in the end. I just get so annoyed when people think that the Moon theory is the unsubstaniated piece of trash known as Jessitrice, it's facepalmworthy.

Yeah, for me the detailed phone call, and Beatrice on the second floor are the points of interest.

Not to say I think Jessica was Beatrice there, but between Shannon and Jessica, it's hard to believe that Shannon switched clothes, ran out to the well, and offed herself, that's a bit elaborate. Either way though, it's hard to explain how either one blew off half their face, and there is no gun around to show signs of suicide.
