What if one day 4chan requires you to fill in personal information before posting, including your ID card number and such, would you still stick to the site loyally or you just don't give a fuck and move on for other boards?

I'm asking this because there's this one popular site in my country that's practically the central of everything and it's loads better than 4chan but it requires you to submit your personal info and confirming it at the governmental office .So I was wondering would you give up your privacy to enjoy a better environment ?

And no,I'm not going to take this to /b/ because I want some serious answers and that place's the worst when it come to "serious" discussion.

>> No.4078883

Take this to /b/.

I have to ask what website this is.
>And no,I'm not going to take this to /b/
Use /r9k/ then.

Do they allow you to show as anonymous there to everyone else while there? If so, maybe.

No. Also I doubt there's anything like /jp/ anywhere else. It's just normalfags wherever you go.

Nope.

Also I should add that although you can post as anonymous in some boards, your comment can be easily deleted by votes from the real life registered user and most of the time people will see it as a lie because you don't have any real life identification.

I would move onto other boards. The allure of 4chan is in the anonymity inherent in it. Though there is definite evidence supporting Gabe's Greater Internet Fuckwad theory, I do not believe that an identity would solve the problem, nor do I believe there to be any other legitimate reason for my internet life to be connected to my personal life

The appeal of anonymity, for me at least, is for ideas and thoughts to be separate from the person speaking them. In addition, I've read enough forums where users must register to post in order to realize that such forums are invariably far, far worse in quality than 4chan

TLDR: No, I would not stick around 4chan. At best I would browse and not post (hopefully circumventing the "give us ur docs" thing), at worst I would go elsewhere

To any number of other websites that would rise to fill the void that 4chan left in the wake of its required registration. What, do you really think this place is at all special? There would be other websites

And if not, well, nothing of value was lost, and so forth

It's odd that they don't fit in /jp/ better, lusting after minors and liking bad music like they do.

Why? Having an identity(especially with all the infos you provided in registration) should've significantly reduce all the undesirable circumstances.

Another thing,do you think the webmaster would abuse the personal information had the chance arise ? I was reading about the dog poo girl the other day and was amazed nobody's ever said nor cared something about the woman's privacy
