Touhou has consistently good and interesting stuff.

However, I think I may have to give the nod to Radiant Silvergun and Gradius V here. That composer does good work.

Rest of the sound tracks aren't memorable, the the stage 1 theme from R-Type is still good.

The DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu soundtrack is fairly average overall. But the stage 4 DDP boss coming out of a portal as you tumble through the air and the DOJ boss music fades in from the background made me hard.

I have a lot of favorites, but Gradius Gaiden is somewhere up there.

Also, this game was proof that there are more to STGs than high difficulty or pretty bullet patterns.
