Maybe I'm just rationalizing because I like Yukari and Hecatia's design here, but this might actually be a good move. When there was a single EFES there was tremendous pressure to get her, both for meta and collection purposes. Because of that a lot of people rolled Bluemu even though they're not huge Reimu fans.

But if there's a EFES deluge it instead becomes apparent that you're not meant to get them all- instead you're supposed to grab 1 or 2 EFES that are special to you. No worries if you miss the bulk of them. It removes some of the pressure and retroactively rewards those who had the fortitude to skip Bluemu not me

Paralyze works on a similar way on the target. That's how Flandre "blind bat" Scarlet reaches 100% accuracy. The value changes according to the current number of barriers, so the moment the affected barrier is broken the numbers will change.

Dumb post, because it was always obvious there would be more than one EFES. Look at all the SFES we have now when Rojo was the only one in JP for months. Now we have 3-5 new EFES on the horizon and none of them will be sparkable, which sucks for anyone that wants them and gets unlucky. This was only a good move in the sense that they finally put Yukari in a swimsuit. She's an all-rounder focus tank with sustain utility. She can inflict burn and break it, has defense buffs, team barrier restore, and does good damage. But she's not the best at any of that stuff and her elements are a bit awkward. Her unique gimmick is her skill that reduces damage from slash and energy bullets by 90% (2T). Pretty niche but it'll probably find some application in CQ at some point.

Imo she's a great unit for a newer players but outside of the dmg reduction she's not going to do something someone else can't if you're already established. E.g. I already have Toyo, Sagume, Blonde Reisen, and a bunch of better anomaly breakers and damage dealers so there's not much of an incentive to roll for her on my end.

It's a classic case of introducing a godawful thing and then introducing something bad that seems good in comparison. Sparking is always preferable to no spark, so Relics actually seem to have been met with praise. For gacha the norm is to obfuscate random shit like rates, the cost benefit for summoning items, free stuff they give, so the player doesn't actually know what's going on for them to pay inefficiently. LW isn't that scummy by your average gacha standards (i.e. no spark, 6 star rarity and more, doubly obfuscated rates, non-farmable summoning resources, paywalls, extreme powercreep, etc), but it still pretty shit for the current meta factor alone and the release speed.

FGO had a pity system for a while. It was just so horribly atrocious that it was inaccessible for 99.99% of people. Even the whales couldn't make use of it. It was reserved for the largest of whales, and those fuckers would roll for 5 copies anyway.
Now recently they introduced a more standard pity system. It's still not great as the number of rolls needed is very high. It's also pretty bad on split rateups as getting the wrong SSR you wanted would remove your pity.

Oh boy so this fight is pretty interesting, they start both weak against sun and moon but once the first HP gets broken they both lose one weakness with Marisa now only being weak against Water and Reimu being weak against Sun while also locking your boosts and shields for 3 turns. Once they are at the final HP bar they lose all their barriers and switch their weaknesses with each other. They also lock your spells and boost for 3 turns on the final bar. They also have that elemental guard ability so you can't just switch in Blue Reimu on the final HP bar and instant LW them to win. It's gonna take a bit to come up with a team that can actually win this, especially at low cost.

The enemies in the lunatic version of the story are actually above lvl 100 but the final battle isn't nearly as complicated as the VS Reimu fight. The enemies do lock a ton of stuff and remove all their barriers for the final HP bar but they don't have anything to reduce the damage they take unlike the ones fromt he VS battle.

This game is super weird because Global CQ >>> JP CQ. Phantasma is actually good at creating challenge content that's also farmable. JP tried to copy the success of his Elemental EX fights, but it's been hit and miss. VS Marisa and VS Remilia L1 were fine and FES farmable, Remi E9 was a problem but the card was superfluous so no one cared, and this new Reimu L1 fight is bordering on whale-exclusive content. Yeah, I was able to do Youmu's EX with no SFES+ and several 1* characters, yet anything ported from JP feels like it all but requires SFES+ to clear. It's nice that Phantasma actually seems to care about gameplay. The JP devs don't, based on how they still haven't figured out a way to show boost scaling for spellcard effects. Thinking about it, they're probably just making super-hard content to make future SFES+ more appealing. Hope it doesn't affect the difficulty of regular content.

Summer Yukari does have a weakness compared to Otohime, though: she lacks the bind-clearing passive. So if her skills are locked she's forced to use her LW, and if her skills and one other thing are locked clearing becomes unviable for replays. Really it's going to be up to the devs how useful she ends up being. They could easily just apply skill locks to everything going forward, which would make her biggest perk rather useless.
