Since the brevity of the text only allows him to think about this near the end, giving us examples that aren't actually present in the work itself, we are forced to make due with shorthand variants of a similar idea or to plainly rely on intuition or other devices.
In sum, the occasional clumsy and flower-for-the-sake-of-it prose are relatively minor issues, though someone might argue the opposite if they were inclined for literary aesthetics.

And even if one appears to get away scotch free, they will not have gained anything that they didn't already have before. This is what gives rise to power dynamics, and it is the primary explanation behind 99.99999% of human interactions. And like the villain mentioned earlier, it is the road to destruction.
Villains might delude themselves into thinking they are following the right and natural way. And they might even be satisfied in the end, should their fragment remain unharmed through it all. But their satisfaction will only be a fraction of what true soul fusion provides.

If the goal is the restoration of that whole, then this entails a love that is practically universal, or spiritual if you will, that makes no excessive distinctions and only wishes the best for all living beings. This partially fits what I see in Yuuka's character but it certainly does not seem to have any bearing on the lustful and self-abnegating tendencies often displayed by people in this thread or myself, and it might not apply to your own approach if we take your idea of divine fusion to be nothing more than a denial of one's existence as is and the desire to fade away into a grand totality that eliminates subjective experience entirely (which need not be the case but I do not see any specification that they retain their own selfhood). By what device, for instance, do you suppose that two fragments, which have linked together in time, can remain such for eternity, when a beginning in time of anything appears to necessitate an end in time of anything?

I don't think there's any special magic in the separation of the genders, I fully believe in platonic love as well. I just idealize true love between the opposite sexes even more, since it is even harder in my opinion, for a male and female soul to link. Sex can be both a barrier to that understanding, but also a bridge, which is why male and female relationships fascinate me so much

Nor do I really put much value in existence merely for the sake of existence. As individuals, we are pathetically limited. We die rather quickly. Our personalities are rapidly formed from the random chaos of our upbringing, we are played with by fate depending on the random gene roll that determines our aptitudes and weaknesses. Anything we accomplish is entirely due to the existence of others, we wouldn't even be able to walk and talk if not for our parents. The presence of others gives meaning to our lives, even as a villain, we won't be able to grow unless there are other people to trample on. If everyone was a true egoist, we would never have even evolved to the homo sapien level as a species. If there is a meaning to life, it most certainly cannot be to "live for yourself." The natural course of evolution is civilization, cooperation, understanding, wisdom, peace and justice.
If it turns out we were chasing a dead end, and soul fusion is nothing more than a fantasy, then I can accept that. But the way I see it is that you have two choices - accept that life is meaningless chaos and live as an "individual" (for whatever that's worth) or search for a meaning, and meaning will always lie in the interconnectivity between ourselves and others, best exemplified through the experience of love

From what little we know about the universe, it seems to be in an endless cycle of creation and destruction. The big bang, expansion, then retraction, down to an infinitesimal point wherein once again, space and time will explode outwards for another akashic cycle. In these next cycles, whether it take a million, billion, or a trillion cycle, our souls will once again flicker into existence. Who knows, we may have had this conversation thousands of times, with the same bodies and names no less. And when that happens, we will inevitably come across our soulmates once again. In that regard, we will truly be together for eternity.

I do not see how subordinating one action for the sake of something in the future is any better. There is no end to such a chain of performing one thing for the sake of a clearly defined benefit or loss in the future. Of course we cannot but be moulded by the world, but this does not mean that we must allow the world to entirely determine what anyone is. Your choices are horribly limited and assume a completely unrealistic dichotomy that serves only to promote your own view. Relationships with others are a necessary burden but there have been many who insisted that you must not let external matters shake you, for what is internal is of greater importance (there can be a concord between the two provided the internal is given priority, depending on the person in question). Yuuka strikes me as being much the same, even if nothing overly explicit is given in canon. Some of these people have been widely considered to be exemplars among the common folk, and they certainly weren't egoists, who are entirely dependant on external relations and conditions to meet their desires. Everything you experience is through your own subjective perspective, as is every thought or construction of your mind. By all means you need not go into radical subjectivity without good cause, but do not forget.

I don't really have much of an argument. I find some things in life beautiful, and other things ugly. It goes beyond just benefits and losses. To me, there is nothing I find more beautiful than two souls caring for each other at the exclusion of all else, building each other up to a stronger state than you could ever be alone, and weathering the storm of life's tribulations through the shelter you have created. I strive to understand that feeling of beauty with a rational basis by borrowing from religious systems of thought that exemplify harmony, understanding, peace, nurture, but at the end of the day its just a feeling. I can choose to ignore these feelings I have, or I can choose to follow them. I've yet to find any "rational" guide to life convincing enough to make me abandon the things I find beautiful.

Either way the thought is nice but my misgivings are too deep-seated. Certainly a difficult question, that I am completely unfit to answer. Love of sorts definitely does exist, though it is usually vulgar and self-satisfied. An ideal love would, I think, negate all else, including or especially the world. Whether such a thing exists in some sense or merely presents the final hope of a delusional fool trying to stave off the deepest levels of despair through the positing of a principle that hopes to transform his current or older obsessions into something noble and respectable, is another matter entirely. In my situation, one look through the thread suffices to answer that.

Quite a good job, I'll say as that aforementioned artist guy who has redrawn into Yuuka or colored maybe a hundred pictures by different artists that I have mostly kept to myself, but, you know, it's the knowledge/idea behind it. It might be two full years already since I'm essentially unable to get off to anything but Yuukas that I have worked on or imagined. Five years ago I couldn't draw anything that somebody except me would like either, and a couple years after even I couldn't look at what I had created during the first year without shuddering. Now I have a whole set of mental issues that deprives me of the motivation to draw, hand nerve damage that prevents me from fully utilizing sudden inspirations, too many things I want to do with too little time for all of them, but at least I've acquired the skills to produce something I like that a handful of folks on the internet seem to like as well. All it takes to draw pregnant Yuuka pictures is your willingness to put in the effort (to learn good-looking methods), an incredible amount of time spent putting that effort in (if you have the patience to actually grind through textbooks and exercises, you'll likely reach the stage where people start liking your drawings faster), and remembering that "painter" cannot be spelt without "pain."
