You get a good mc which is a bodyguard for a spoiled little brat that actually forced him into it, and what's the story about ? Assassins ? Drama about the mc's past ? Bro action with your partner/rival ?
Of course not, just slice of life inside the mansion with your waifu... goddamnit...
The mc and the maid teasing each other was the only good thing.
Thankfully it looks like a new game is coming out this year based on the same characters, let's hope the writer does things right this time.

He does not really take advantage of that specific attribute much (though he does take advantage of other shit, like raising levels of women he fucks).
Regardless of who is called a 'Hero' in the Ranceverse and what Rance's attributes are, he is the lead of the story and actively does heroic shit.
Everything else is irrelevant.

I get mad if the story has a good setting, HnG was moeshit from the start and you could see it from miles away.
Akatsuki no Goei instead had good setting, a world filled with crime and disparity between rich and poor, good characters, the mc is a fucking murderer, and those characters had wonderful backstories that could've been used to go much deeper in the plot without too much trouble.
The more I think about it, the more I feel like this game was rushed, that's why I'm putting my hopes on the new one.
