If you are a native gensokyo human villager, then you WILL get consequences, you are to abide by the rules, even the fortune-teller was killed when he attempted to become youkai, so don't fool around

If you're an outsider though, then that's another story, but you're also much more likely to be kidnapped by a youkai and meet an ill fate

Definitely don't want to be stuck in the human village. I don't think I could get used to the medieval-tier level of technology.
Being spirited away into Gensokyo on the other hand would be an interesting alternative tho. That hobo shrine maiden only murders the villagers if they turn youkai, right? I wonder if it could be possible to speedrun becoming a youkai if you pack human flesh with you and eat it the moment you enter Gensokyo? That'd be cool

I think it's just human villagers specifically or the way the fortune teller went about doing it (rules lawyering how vengeful spirits work). Alice is a former human turned magician youkai and Reimu doesn't give a shit. There's also maybe Keine depending on if she was born a were-hakutatu or not.
