I am still in the Yamanbagiri pair tutorial, but the translation has been fine so far. Feels like Koei Tecmo did it in house without overlocalization.
The game is good so far, but is slow at unlocking features through the tutorial. There are probably a lot of things I am currently missing. I recognize a lot of systems from other Musou games. One major difference is that so far the maps are a lot smaller and more based around doing things at strategic points than killing a million troops.
It may get grindy to unlock everything, but they put a lot of writing and voice acting in to the game. Lots of paired conversations between swords. Everyone also has a damage model that is very easy to activate during combat. Possibly also related, but the free camera for picture mode has very restricted camera angles. This can probably be hacked around on PC.

Hey, I'm still salty from the fucked Bustafellows PC port by PQube. No subtitles for voice only lines (unless you can check the backlog) during cutscenes, awful and obtuse key bindings for what really only needs three buttons max, and they released a patch to fix all the typoes in game and ended up wiping every PC owner's save files and completion progress to default. I was only 8 hours in, but people who had higher completion rates were fucked. There was feedback on their twitter, but as far as I know , they ignored it. I bought it on Steam to support PC ports for VNs, but now I wish I just stuck to the Switch port, since they couldn't have ruined the controls.

MC's senpai is rich af. Hitomi got fat because her bro was spoiling her whenever she became hangry. Hitomi was picky with her food so her bro became a great cook through trial and error just to make her happy. Typical misunderstandings and some npc making them realize their feelings (!!!) for each other. Hitomi finishes uni and they both still live together. She's finally wearing the gifts from her oniichan. We later learn that big bro kept turning down marriage proposals thrown his way while also discarding all the matchmaking pictures his mom got to help Hitomi find a guy. Oniichan also rejects the idea of getting a pet cat because it will take away Hitomi's attention. In the end, they both agree that all they need is each other. Together forever.

I gotta say, this route really blindsided me. I didn't expect to see this from an all ages otome game.

No problem. I somehow got both his endings after my first route which made me astonished at my luck in picking the one innocent sounding game with such a route. Just like the other time I picked a game where (You) can choose a serial killer love interest after seeing through his lies and then helping him kill his victims.

Oniichan's route was bittersweet, generating enough angst about his love for (You) in his confessions, that if one wasn't squicked by it, they'd also hesitate to do the other guy's routes. I guess the minimal presence of the MC's parents in the game also helped set the atmosphere.

I also finished watching the Dogra Magra film the other day. What a trip. I really like the bunraku puppets they used. An unfilmable novel huh. That sort of thing reminds of what Alan Moore said about the Watchmen comics. I'll start reading the Dogra Magra novel today so I can compare it later to the film.

Choice of the Star Captain or Light Years Apart? Both fit the description. I also played those for that sweet captainxspaceship interactions. I, Cyborg is another nice one for sci-fi, but for all that build up it had a very unfortunate and crippling lack of self-cest.

My recent favorites were The Fog Knows Your Name and Mask Of The Plague Doctor, both for the pretty well-hidden spectacular bad ends where you get enslaved by an eldritch god. Going to play the Golden Rose tonight, I did play a few iterations when it was still in early alpha stage, and the low-fantasy historical premise was promising. Hopefully it won't suck, it's like four times longer than the average game on that site.

A Mage Reborn is another nice WIP that's showing promise and at this point has a very good shot at making it to release.

Avatar of the Wolf's more of an action packed mystery and the writing's solid, but the romance is lacking. Still funny that you won't get crucial help and have to go doing it the long way if you reject a love interest's invitation to spend a night. I forgot the wip's name since it's been a while, but it had a premise of (You) representing one of the seven deadly sins, specifically Sloth. However you can mess with the supposed sin emergence so the current sin holder and their allies quickly turns hostile against you. It starts out as some kind of teen slasher wood cabin slaughter and escalates from there. It was a pretty interesting modern occult horror.

Choice of the Vampire, and Heroes Rise trilogy weren't my cup of tea. Former's boring, and latter really gets terribad the farther it goes.

It also has a shadow tentacle creature living in your head, but they put him in a body before you can fuck him. Weak. At least he gets to keep his shadow tentacles and use them in porn scenes.

If you're a fan of urban horror and Vampire the Masquerade, Red Embrace: Hollywood might just be your thing. It's a dark take on vampire romance or just how love can destroy in particular. You can be whoever you want to be because (You) are already dead. A complete 180 compared to its previous kinda lighter hopeful vampire game. The art work, writing, music even the bad endings are to die for. It's even better than the Coteries of New York that's based on the actual official game itself. Coteries was visually impressive, but too short, had terrible writing, and your choices are illusory so unlike the Bloodlines PC game. idk if they fixed it, but it was buggy af, didn't show correct response to the choices you made, or have your abilities match with whatever clan you picked.

There's also the classic Long Live The Queen for that court intrigue, stat raising, deadly magical girl adventure fix or the Black Closet's high school mystery shtick where (You) get to be class president ordering your minions in helping you solve one problem at a time except every run will generate a different traitor to make things more exciting when it gets replayed.
