None. If a game is good, it will last.

Not at all.
These games are temporary by nature and they'll, die when they die. Which may end up being much sooner or later than you're expecting.
In either case, if a game holds my interest to stick around until then, then I'd say it did pretty well.
Spending the game's whole run doomposting and paying more attention to the sales figures than the game itself just doesn't seem very fun to me.

The gacha self insert is one of the most disgusting things in existence anyway. Comes from someone who plays visual novels that are very known for having self inserts and mary stue protagonists. At least those still have a name, and some minor background. A lot of the gacha crap literally tries to do the (You) shit, often acting as if (You) say something by giving you a "choice" with one fucking option. Couldn't be more disgusting really.

"I" play the game. "I" am not in the fucking game. If this shit dies out, I could only be happy. Yuuki Yuuna's gacha is how old now? It gets by without that crap for all these years, with you simply being a player. Sure there's character introductions and such, but that's that, as far as I know.
An actual protagonist with a face is fine, too. Probably often better, to be honest. But that's only if you wanna tell a story from the view of a single protagonist. Gacha lend themselves relatively well for not doing so, for obvious reasons.

See, if you could really interact with 2d anime girls, I could understand why some like it. But it's not like you can. So all these teachers and co without really any personality, character or anything in gacha can all die out, as far as I care. It just feels so miserable. Also super fucking lazy. Now male characters... they are truly the menace. Not only they will take away release slots of waifus, you inadvertently attract male fans who want more of them, and even ship them with the girls or (You).

And don't think for a second that you can pick and choose. If there are male characters, there are going to be meta male characters. You will be forced to use them just to progress. Having a gacha self-insert, first and foremost, makes me want to care about the characters, because I'm the type to really need to personally interact with others to know if I like them. I play Project Sekai for the rhythm gameplay, and I literally didn't care if the meta cards (festival limiteds and virtual singer limiteds) were male characters, precisely because there was no self-insert to interact with them.

At one point I also briefly played Illusion Connect, which does have a male self-insert, and while there were female characters I liked and I didn't like any of the male characters as much, I also found that I wouldn't mind using the male characters if they were meta cards.

For what it's worth, this was why those didn't feel like "me" at all. It made me unable to care about any of the characters, including the so-called self-inserts.
