Last night, I dreamt that I awoke to find that someone had somehow gotten a real fir tree into my bedroom and placed three gaudily wrapped presents beneath it, one small, one the size of a briefcase, and one the size of the boxes computers are shipped in. Each gift had a little tag tied on, which I quickly read: the littlest box was from Chen, the middle box from Ran, and the biggest box was from "Lady Yukari, praise my name". Not being much of a believer in the "save the best for last" school of philosophy, I immediately unwrapped Chen's puresento and found a cute, badly handmade scarf and some childish drawings of myself and the Yakumo family.

After recovering from some heart palpitations, I moved on to Ran's gift. It contained four old books, written entirely in moonrunes and filled with occult symbols. Attached was a note: "Maybe this will finally give you the motivation to learn my language. Remember, you mustn't show this power to anyone else. -- Yakumo Ran"

I stacked the books on my desk and made a mental note to find some OCR software, then turned to the final gift. It would no doubt contain something devious or embarrassing or both, and I blushed just thinking about the possibilities. Finally I mastered myself, undid the wrapping paper, and opened the box, revealing [pic related]. She said something, but it was in unintelligible moon language, the only words I recognized being "goshujin-sama" and "gokigenyou". I tried to communicate to her in English and she tried to communicate to me in Japanese, and it became readily apparent that neither of us could understand the other in the slightest.

And then I woke up. The first thought that came to mind, "idiot, you could have spoken to her through Google translator and Microsoft Sam," was immediately followed up with soul-crushing despair as I realized that I would never have a Yakumo family Christmas ;_;

So how was your day?

Sometimes I'm glad I don't have dreams. That way I don't have to wake up from something like that...

I'd say 'me too' but I'd love to hang out at the Moriya shrine too.

>Remember, you mustn't show this power to anyone else.

There's at least a dozen tales where some dude is given a gift/spared by some spirit and told he shouldn't tell this to anyone, after which he nevertheless does tell and is never heard from again.

Rest in peace, Anonymous.

Out of all the dream-stories on 4chan, I believe this is the most ridiculous. Not that it's a bad thing, mind you.

How so? I've had much stranger dreams.
The only really odd things about this one were that I've never celebrated Christmas before in real life and Yuka is not on my list of top ten touhou girls I'd choose to find in a box.
