What's the name for the magic variety that was used in Umineko ie first circle of the moon, seventh circle of the sun? I used to have a listing of all of them and what they meant, but I lost it and now that I can't even remember what it was called again, finding it is rather difficult.

Pic unrelated, and question probably unrelated, but I figured /jp/ would be the best to ask since it was prominent in Umineko early on.

Wicca?

They aren't wiccan, I know that much. Sumerian magic comes to mind, but that's not bringing anything up on google.

I thought it was Hebrew.

Right. God damn. Solomon. Knew it started with an S. Looking up hebrew circles brought up the connection though, so thanks for that.

I don't have a clue what you mean by "first circle of the moon" but every magic sigil in Umineko is taken directly from the Ars Goetia of the Lesser Key of Solomon.

Hebrew was just inscribed on the circles; it's not connected with Judaism.

Isn't the Ars Goetia a listing of demons?

Is right.

The pentacles themselves can be seen here http://www.esotericarchives.com/solomon/ksol.htm (scroll down)

Yes. It's also where he got Ronove and Gaap from.

Right. No wonder I couldn't find the damn things. They're pentacles, not magic circles.

>The first pentacle of the Moon.-- This and the following serve to call forth and invoke the spirits of the Moon; and it further serveth to open doors, in whatever way they may be fastened.

I'm pretty sure this one was used in Umineko at some point.
