They are for people who don't have the patience or time to be ordering parts off newegg and learn how to build it together to save a few extra bucks. You can argue that it's not hard, nobody cares, that's how convenience + money works.

Oh, and I'll recommend Dell as well. They'll get you playing all your favorite VNs and high-end video games in no time for even less than HP computers.

Nothing is wrong with it. It's just elitist fags who think they're badass for being able to build something as simplistic as a desktop, which is equivalent to playing with Legos even to the average man if they would just try (this is where laziness and convenience comes in). The only way a pre-built can be "bad" is if it's Dell, whereas you cannot upgrade the parts when the time comes, but even then most people don't give a shit because it will do just fine for at least 3 years on average.

The biggest problem with pre-built Dells is that they clip parts of the motherboard so that it fits into their towers, which makes it a problem to upgrade later if you don't want to drop another 50+ USD on a decent tower and if you don't know what parts of the motherboard to clip.

Otherwise, their stuff isn't terrible but, unless you want to get Windows 7 at somewhat of a discount, it'd be cheaper just to get the parts separately and build it yourself.
