Kinda both. Rebirth gives her the damage to delete and deleting single targets is really valuable in EX modes. Additionally her LW is half non-elemental and her skill makes it so she deals 40% more damage to disadvantageous elements. So she doesn't really care about EX boss resists.

The jap version's improved full auto is really shit for suiciding characters into the final tower floor because they won't use their LW until the enemy is on the final health bar. Just sending in a ton of characters every day after the first real clear was an easy way to get extra rewards without any effort.

The tower is honestly just too easy nowadays. There's nothing stopping me from just throwing 3 nukes and every floor gets wiped. They don't even have to be full broken. I'm glad they added ex stages for an extra challenge. I hope eventually they make more varied EX stages. Maybe stuff like an EX stage where you can only use human characters or one where it's an endurance test so healers become more valuable.

Where X is how much P the card is already generating. That comes out to values greater than 2.67P. I don't think I've ever seen a card give back more 1.5P on its own, so they're functionally useless unless they have another effect.

It's only getting easier. The enemies in the current jap floors have around 1.4 million HP but the characters added to the game are getting better and better so the added HP means nothing. I always try to save my better characters for later floors and it is quite funny to see someone like Red Yuuka struggle to deal good damage while Little Reimu who has the same elements just runs through everything.

A lot of them don't really vary much in the early days, a lot of straight on facing the camera with rigid poses. I think his improvement starts to show around TD and DDC, with LoLK onwards having some really nice pose variations.

Yup, all those units are exceptional. In terms of elemental coverage you're missing earth, but that's only a big deal if you're fighting something exclusively weak to earth.

Be mindful of yang/yin stats. Hecatia and Suika will play nice together as they can buff each other's yin attack. In fact, Hecatia's 2nd spellcard buffs yin +2 for 3 (three) turns, which combos perfectly with Suika's party yin attack graze buff. So use Hecatia's spellcard and graze 3 times with Suika to give them both +5 yin attack lasting 3 turns. Adding skills that will max Hecatia out and put Suika at +7.

The rest of your team is yang-oriented, so they'd all like to be buffed by Toyohime. And then Yorihime offers crit support which is great for those with wide-ranging slayers, which everyone but Marisa has.

No? OrdinaryMagician/OverwhelmingFirepower/YakumoFamily etc.
Do they have all of the above and their LW all the same bullet type/element?
Yes? Whatever card buffs that type/element the hardest.
Then everything else is stat sticks or Red Marisa cards or 2T+ Yin/Yang/CRT buff cards to setup a stronger LW.
That's the rule of thumb, just do your best.

If you want to be a bit more fancy, what I like to do is use cards that debuff the enemy because it helps the entire team. This Remi card debuffs Yin def by 2 stages for 3 turns. There is also a really good card with the bunbuns on it that lowers the yang def of the entire enemy group by 2 stages for 2 turns but it can only be used by debuff type characters. Some of the retro 2hus just happen to be really good debuff characters...

You will be 1 speed buff level short for a while, take 1 more hit and have less P. Removing the Hakurei Shrine anniversary card would most certainly also require the Lost Word card to be changed to something else because you might not have enough power to boost to 2 stages otherwise. Japs had as a general rule for this set-up that your first attack needs to deal around 34k damage for it to work. An accuracy boosting card and a yang attack+ card are absolutely required at least. First image is how much P Marisa has with the anniversary card after the first turn and 2nd is without it (she always gets hit there but she is fast enough to only get hit by the enemy she resists).

That was worded kinda poorly, you don't use the Lost Word card to gain power, obviously. You just boost twice on the turn you use that card which you can't do if you do not gain the extra P in turn 1. You only have around 2.29 P when it comes time to boost twice on the 2nd to last turn.

Edgy Youmu is pretty cool. Her LW damage isn’t up to current powercreep standards (obviously) but her elemental coverage is really useful and her long duration buffs make it easy for her to reach 10-10-10 in a few turns. And metal remains a rare element so she’ll be extremely useful for metal ex.

As for whether or not she's worth it, she's obviously really good but idk I still have a few (irrational?) reservations. For one a non-trivial amount of her buffs are tied up in her last word. She's strictly a worse yang buffer than Otohime without it. But she has access to the "quick" status so no problem, right? The problem is that said "quick" buff is in the same skill that gives the party 1.00P. Thus there's a conflict here: you probably want to give everyone 1.00P at the start of the fight, but you also want to save the skill for the turn Sagume uses her last word. So you either have to choose between the two or you just use it at the start and fuck around with agi stat sticks to ensure she goes first which is a huge pain in the ass.

Because of this last word focus she also needs to be fully awakened to max out her support. The difference between +1 crit atk and +3 isn't trivial.

But on the other hand her metal breaks are cool and her damage is great. Mind, said breaks aren't perfect because she needs 3P to access all of them. But it's still nice. And her party spirit power generation is the best in the game by a large margin.

The other cool thing about her is her crit support, which is highly valuable these days. But half of +6 she can give is, again, wrapped up in her LW. She also has some yin support but it's not her focus. And can't forget about her 1st spellcard giving +2 shield. And the same spellcard gives 2 para to everyone and then breaks it @ 2P. BUT it also inflicts a 3T blind at 1P so gotta be careful you don't fuck up a para break combo with that.

She's a jack-of-all trades character to be sure. A bit finicky to get her operating at 100% but when she does she's excellent. Only thing holding her back is a lack of specialization, arguably. Flan has better damage, Junko has better anomaly breaks, Toyohime has better yang support/longer buff duration/not LW dependent. Sags is great at everything but not the best at any one thing.

L1 Sagume is pretty good for a last-gen character. All targets yang def -5 is nice. More if she uses her solo spellcard. But her kit is very backloaded and her breaks need 3P to shine. She's not extraordinary but she has her niche.

I wish this tier list would take into considering spellcard damage. With gauge breaks it's pretty important now. And having effectively multiple last words like Hecatia and Edgy Flan, and to a lesser extent Raymoo is a significant boon.

Both versions of Sagume are good. Regular Sagume is a good debuffer and SFES Sagume is the best support type character in the game. Old Sagume barely gains any P on her spells though so she is one of those characters who pretty much needs a maxed out Red Marisa card. Based on what some other Anon posted earlier in the thread, global seems to still lack her best story card.

Top priorities are Suika, Iku, Hecatia. Junko and Sagume are of course the best here but they're gated via divine dolls, as you know.

They're different. Iku is a massive front-loaded wood nuker and paralysis support.
Suika is more jack-of-all-trades-ish. Her fire spellcard gives team accuracy, her graze gives team yin atk, she can stall with her self barrier restore, and her LW is moon/metal with good damage and slayers.
Hecatia is more of a deleter. Her LW is, by a good margin, the strongest out of these three but it only hits a single target. But her all-target spellcard can do LW-level damage if set up right, so that makes up for it.

Up to you which one you go for first. Depends on what you need right now. Iku is probably the best here are churning through easy content while Hecc and Suika are better at difficult content.

She has a solo target but all Star LW, so she's automatically god-tier for a hypothetical Star EX.
Otherwise her breaks are mediocre. Star or Metal, but not a lot of either. Plus her spellcards are all 1-1-3 (her LW is at least 1-2-2).
But she has real good skills/spellcard effects. Her skills give her 1.6P, 3 avoid (3T), and 3 yang atk (2T). She also increases party's accuracy by 2 and party's yang atk by 1 for every graze. Her first spellcard increases party's yang atk (2T), her second increases party's yang def (3T), and all her cards have def scaling. Her LW decreases enemy evasion and crit evade, but she has Charge so she can't really debuff with it, but it also never misses at 0P.

Overall incredible yang support and star damage, but more importantly she is very, very cute.

I think it is just a weird side effect of their algorithm heavily pushing characters who can inflict and break status effects in combination with decent damage, perfect accuracy and elements on her regular spells. Her LW is one of those rainbow element meme spreads. I am not aware of her doing anything special for farming. She is immune to getting stuck with electric effects but her regular AoE spell and LW have pretty bad elements to deal with Yuuka and friends to farm in that stage. Memelist is the only list I know that puts her this far up.

Suwa is the opposite- she's very metal focused and can break the hell out of metal weak enemies. In terms of support she can give a good amount of crit attack and crit hit.

Not him but personally speaking she's thoroughly...ok. The good is that she has a plethora of slayers. Her slayers also let her do her job as a crit focused attacker very well. When she gets set up, she can do some good damage and her spellcards have pretty rare elements with water and metal, but sadly they're single target. She also doesn't have to worry about accuracy unlike other DEST types because all her cards are slash bullets so she can use mysterious sword master to great effect.

The things I don't like about her are her lack of utility and LW elements, Maybe I'm just spoiled from all the other units I have but as far as the retros go (I have all of them so far), she's probably the least used besides Byakuren. She's good for short fights but I don't like having her for longer fights with burst gauges. Her LW's elements are a big let down. I like to use all my retros together and if I'm going to bring Wood/Moon, I'm going to bring Reisen and Reimu instead. She would have benefitted quite a bit from her LW having the elements of her spellcards. Water and especially metal are rarer than moon and wood.

The last thing is her farming is a bit let down by her last 2 bullets with gensokyo slayer being 3P but she obviously can't get that for auto battle. It's not too big of a deal but she's missing out by not being able to utilize it in auto battle. I collect all the retros for fun but if you're just looking to get strong units I'd shoot for Reisen or maybe wait for a Sakuya rerun.

I think I have a few hightier folks as well as pretty much all of the few FES characters I was aiming for out of fondness. I wanted peach lady but I sort of feel bad about not giving Mamizou a chance, especially with anon(s) being quite fond of her.

I hope that new thing added to reincarnation is actually something major that helps characters and not just "oh, spend more resources to gain +100 extra attack!". If you can unlock extra slayers, effects and elements, it would be great.

Double banners are kind of a double edged sword if you already have one... I want Sakuya but I don't want to roll another Aya on the way. Vanilla flan? She needs accuracy over everything else. She also needs Yin attack and crit attack. If you can give her all this through team support then give her a card that boosts energy bullet damage. Note though that the best card for this is not in global right now.
