I don't see the point in getting it back since Yugoslavia kicked out all non-Slav ethnic groups during Tito's reign. Italy wanted it only because the ethnic makeup of the coastal area was for the most part Italian (this dates back to when Venice used to own Dalmatia), so in light of the border changes following WWI considered it unfair to keep them separated from their homeland.
