Five or six consecutive winnings have gotten me a cure corruption and shoes most time. This is in Palmia, so perhaps there is always a town that will give them out while others don't. Search for your appropriate town. Eat blessed food for the luck boost.

Oh yeah, savescum the shit out of those 10 starting chips. The game also twists the chances a bit so no sweat.

Besides, neither of them are any good, at all. If you want a pet that actually helps instead of being moe, get either a quickling/bell for shuriken bleedspam, a yith/dragon for amazing tanking or an executioner/messenger of death for death word.

Aside from random 50+ dungeons, and reading accidents, that's the only guaranteed way to find one. They're pretty damn tough/fast, and their insanity attacks can overwhelm Jure's sanity aura if you tank them for too long. You'll want to have high stats (75+), be at least level 40 or so, somewhere around 150 speed, at least, and 300ish PV (dodge helps too). Carry tons of healing wands/potions, some magic dart/elemental wands, and anything you can use to buy some time (confusion potions, etc). Also, lots and lots of teleport rods.

You'll probably want to invest in shops for a 50ish monster ball; it's really hard to get a succesful dominate. Though if you pull it off (unlikely) it'd save you the effort of lowering its hp.

If you're going to the trouble of catching a yith, I'd reccomend a chaos dragon instead. Sure, insanity attacks are nice and all, but dragons have 220% life versus a yith's 150% and higher strength/constitution/dexterity. Dragons also have strong resistances to everything except magic, while yiths only resist mind. Dragons start with very few slots, but you can engineer them to have all the default humanoid ones. The chaos breath is a problem, but if you ride them or stay behind them and shoot things (alternatively, you can melee as long as you always stay to the side), or get chaos resistance, you won't have much of a problem.

Yiths are good 1v1 due to their insanity attack, but a fully geared, gene engineered chaos dragon is a goddam siege engine.

Get some bottles of water. Find an altar to your God. Drop them on the altar. You now have holy water. Mix it with what you want to bless. Tip, blessing works on whole stacks so you might want to save your holy water for things you've gotten a decent amount of. Blessing also overrides cursed and doomed.

Write three bat files: one for overwriting an archived save, one for loading from an archived save, and one for creating a second archive at the end of your day, when you're sure everything is good.

Small note here, opening treasure chests on Forts of Chaos is immensely rewarding, since they're Level 666 and pretty safe unless you go to the end of the corridor to face the boss.

Got maybe a half a dozen miracle equipment and a pair of cure corruption potions out of it and I'm just level 7. Just watch out for the bloodsucking doomed miracle equipment.

You can find them in your museum although they are very strong they don't have ranged attacks or magic so can be dealt with much more easily if you steal their equipment or dim them and rush them with a meat shield of pets

Bells are faster, much faster, than anything but quicklings. And, unlike quicklings they're incredibly resistant to all kinds of damage except for poison and bleeding. So give your bell panties or a shuriken and watch them absolutely destroy all your enemies.

Plus, since enemies usually attack whatever hit them last, and bells usually get the last attack, your enemies will just chase the bells down uselessly and be kept out of reach. Seriously, try using one with a shuriken in a pet arena and watch your level 1 bell get you under rank 50 easily (eventually there will be something that can beat it, I think).

To me, at first it seemed like the 'God' class was the 'end-all-be-all' kind of thing...and then you realize they only have 4 equipment slots...two hands, ranged, and ammo.

Catgods are fucking ridiculous though. 500 base speed and pretty much all equipment slots. They seem to have only one arm, though...

I haven't fiddled much with the others though, but I want /jp/'s opinion. Would it be "cheating" to use one if the drawbacks are considerable?

I've pretty much been playing "legit" in so far as only using debug races.

I look down on savescumming from playing other roguelikes, but I can't say I haven't been tempted to for this game. Fuck Cursed Whisperings; it's literally the only reason I picked up the feat to counter it. Speaking of which, it seems to give you quite a strong resistance to enemy curses, but you're not immune. I've had my claymore cursed twice already and I damn near died because of it.

Furthermore, fuck hounds. Fuck ALL types of hounds. And Chaos Pumpkins too, I forget their exact name but you encounter a few in Lumiest Sewers.

It doesn't matter where you open them. When they appear they have a semi pre-set loot when you open them. It doesn't change to open them anywhere specific. Try save scumming it in different places and you'll notice you'll get the SAME STUFF anywhere you open your chests.

My kung fu chicken (chicken claymore, putting feats into martial arts and dodging skills, etc) was doing pretty well, but I was running a few delivery jobs when I ran into rogue bosses on the map. No, the bell does all that. My mount or my little girl are far more likely to die. If anything, the problem with bells is that they kill far TOO reliably and are almost unfailing in their ability to get the attention of enemies. It just means I can't work on evasion or martial arts as much as I want to.

The chicken doesn't even die very easily - high evasion, some improved evasion, and high dexterity and perception mean this bird doesn't get hit very often. And I do 1.9x 2d9+3 damage. I don't know if that's good or not for a level 7 character but I'm working on it.

It just gives you -60 karma. I know because my current character gets -60 karma every month. Assuming you haven't gotten the secret treasure of the saint (wiki it) you should be at best around -40 karma. If you save up 4 wallets/suitcases to turn in and a disguise kit, you'll be able to get up from being a criminal with that and turning in a quest.

I find escort quests from Derphy to Vernis to be most effective for that, but you can also choose not to turn in Hunting Quests, as there's no time limit, then cash in when you need one or two more points of karma.

Melee is the best. Wield a big ass fucking two hander while riding on top of a fucking Trex. By endgame you easily have a speed of 200++ and the best part is you don't need to worry about any of the --speed artifacts because they don't affect you.

Try to avoid vomiting over and over. If you vomit a lot in a short amount of time, you will get anorexia, which makes you throw up every time you eat and is impossible to get rid of.

Should I take riding as a skill?

I got a great pair of Seven League Boots early on, so I never saw a reason to get riding. However, riding a T-rex does look awesome. How useful is the skill and how much faster does it make you?

I haven't really tried joining any of the guilds yet, but a lot of ranks you can get have time limits that will lower your rank if you spend a certain amount of time not putting effort into it. For example, if you don't beat something at the arena every 20 days your arena rank goes down. Check your journal to see if it tells you have a certain amount of days left.

Get better magical resistances. Defender items come in mind as they usually have several ## in a few type of magics and update your PV or DV so it's godly enough.
