It would be great if I could remember how I learned English as a kid. I can't even remember a time before being able to read and speak. And living in a country where practically nobody but foreigners speak a second language means I know nothing about language learning. a good way to see how this works, you can check out non-native english speakers and you can easily tell which ones started learning English at 10 years old versus the ones that started at 18 or older. HUGE difference in fluency, and huge difference in accent as well. This is very consistently observable.

And those that started learning at 25 will struggle to get anything more than awkwardly conversational.

I had that error a week ago but I've already forgotten what caused it. it was something trivial though. I think the file it mentions was split between the two parts of the archive and it didn't unpack properly when I used 7zip. but it worked when I used unrar. so the cause might be unpacking the two parts separately instead of together which fucks up the RB_table_tennis_whatever file.

which is supposed to mean "(As for Alice) even though it's an empty jar, dropping it would be bad, she thought."
Firstly, why wouldn't the first part mean "Even though Alice is an empty jar" if there's no が? Just context?
Secondly, if we establish that it is "it" (IT was an empty jar), 落とす means to drop something, so shouldn't it mean "even though it was an empty jar, it (the jar) dropping (something undefined - as there is no を to tell me what is being dropped by 落とす) would be bad"?

when do you get past the wall of reading being just vaguely attaching words you only know english translations for that you don't really "get" to simple jap you actually just know. this is painful and not fun at all.
