Those who think stories are water for taking medicines, not drinks for enjoying itself, have lost a chance to enjoy it, despite they actually haven't known almost anything about Higurashi yet.

In Japan, many people played the game after watching the anime and understood how the anime they watched were "non-Higurashi."

Satsuki Yukino, the seiyuu for Shmion, said she was thinking Shion was just a stalker when she acted for Meakashi-hen of the anime, but afterwards understood Shion's true feelings when she acted for Higurashi Matsuri.

The real question you should be asking is why are the majority of NA VN licensing companies so shitty?
