there's almost no way it didn't factor into their decision. i think the more important thing though is that she was clearly suffering from issues long before this blew up. if the company actually cared, they should've tried to do something to stabilize her or at least keep her thinking they were on her side. she already said she felt the manager wasn't following through on her problems with senpai. that means she wouldn't trust them or consider them as reliable when she actually needed help for something.

the dumb part about all of this is that almost anyone could've solved it ahead of time had they really understood her mental issues. better communication would've either resolved the differences between her and other parties or at least reassured her that people were trying to help. instead she felt like she had to do it herself...

I think there's a simple explanation: Twitter uses algorithms. When mikeneko was getting a ton of followers, she was bumped to the top of Rika's follows because of engagement numbers. When this slowed down, she went back to the numerical position in Rika's follows. We can compare if you want but ultimately it's a computer deciding this for reasons that are incomprehensible to a human being.
