So yeah, super unreliable sources, whose statements are somehow in line with two vaguely worded notices from cover that came after one of their statements.

I definitely believe if there was a way out for Cover to sweep it under the rug they would have. Not because of moral but simply because of money. It kneecaps the momentum for their fes, all future sankisei merch and projects. No one talks about the cost of cancellation and Rushia definitely would have had many future merch/projects in the work that all got quietly scrapped. If merch production is already somewhat underway, you still have to pay the involved people even if you cancel the project midway. Depending on the contract there may even be a cancellation fine.

If anything, I was more curious about how the Fandead themselves worked and how they were allowed to do... whatever the fuck their split was, really.
Then February 10, 2022 came. I was going to miss the stream due to work, but I wasn't really interested in it in the first place, so I probably would've missed it even if I did have a chance to catch it. I only saw what happened second-hand. I was sure it would turn out fine. The shitposting ramped up. I admit I found the irony of launching the wedding-themed merch on that day pretty funny.
The Fandead made a bunker to hide out in, to avoid having to fight everyone's takes while licking their wounds, hoping to hide from the pointless bickering. Because I'd kept up with the split's antics, I jumped in. It was not about her, it was about seeing where they would go.

But sometime down the line, I turned into a genuine Fandead. I became invested in her and her story, despite my N6 ass knowing practically nothing about her. I had to brute force one dozens of possibilities of the passwords to get some pastebin in the thread, even. I don't know her. I've never even sent a chat message or made a tweet. Rushia was just that streamer who conveniently happened to be there on occasion. But being surrounded by the actual Fandead, being accepted as if I was one of their own, I bought into this entire trashfire so hard. A tweet, a twitcast, anything from her would either send me to the depths of sadness or the heights of happiness—with no inbetween. All it takes is one stream from Korekore for everyone, me included, to lose their collective minds.
Then the termination announcement came. I was absolutely certain, to the point that I would have bet over ten thousand dollars on it, they would never, ever let her go over this before HoloFes, much less that they would terminate her instead of graduating her. Then the line dropped.

Her last moments as Rushia are unarchived, gone forever. The final video on her page is an ARK VOD. And then in late March, they want to burn the rest of it. They're going to un-person her as if it was the natural thing to do. There was no hint of remorse or regret, even the slightest tinge of talking to Rushia about what to do with what's left of her content.
