I like the idea that Mokou isn't a complete hardass that's bend on burning and destroying everything - I like her PMiSS descriptions a lot. Being an unsociable person is okay, but I don't like how idiotically clingy to Kaguya she is. She says that Kaguya is the only person that can sympathize with her, but youkai are an option to befriend, and they're damn near immortal. You'd expect her to be friends with Suika or something.

Viewing Kaguya as a rival is okay.

Feeling lost and lonely because Kaguya might go back to the moon is not.

She isn't THAT clingy to Kaguya either, but was merely nervous that she was going to the moon, and it's understandable too, since she hates Kaguya. But she isn't as obsessive about Kaguya as fans turn her out to be. Kaguya is merely the person who's at fault for most of her misery, which to say, makes sense. Canonically, it's not even Mokou who goes after Kaguya to kill her, but the other way around. Mokou is shown irritated by it altogether.

To me, it seems very much like she sees Kaguya as a friendly rival than a real enemy. Like Mokou just sort of waved off the idea that Kaguya made the Hourai elixir and whatnot. I suppose it makes sense though. It's not like she can kill Kaguya to get back at her.

Additionally, I still don't see why she can't befriend long-lived beings. Fairies apparently can't die, and youkai obviously don't have a problem bonding with short-lived humans anymore.

Canon Mokou needs to lighten up and get some tougher skin.

Often she's shown as befriending Keine, but there's no real way to prove that they're really close friends. She really is a solo-ist. But I don't think that there's anything wrong with it. On the contrary, I think it's pretty cool how easily she gets by without even befriending people or youkai. Well, that's Mokou for ya.
