Going for Ran route but the problem is to get to Hojo I have to either get pass Uesugi (which if I recall the moment you declare war on them Takeda would start crushing hojo) or go through Ieyasu and the hannys.

Or is there any way to beat the Takeda general blitz at this point ?

>> No.3884862

If you've got the Dokuganryuu family, you can bust through the raccoon dogs and the clay pots without too much trouble.

Uesugi is the way to go if you don't.
Just make sure to deploy Rance when you spot Kenshin.

>> No.3884876

>>3884862

The moment you declare war on Uesugi the Takeda would start raping Hojo, so looks like Kenshin is not the way to go.

And I'm reluctant to go through the tanuki because I'm not sure my force would hold against Ieyasu at this point.

They don't do that in second game+, don't worry about it. If you do decide to cut through the south though don't worry about Tokugawa, in my first game run when I was a greenhorn I went straight for them first and still won easily.

Try to avoid war with Takeda unless you're prepared, a lot of my early games became extremely brutal because of them.

You'll make it through, in that game I described Takeda and Hojo took the entire right side of Japan from me.

The tenshi troop loss only happens once although it can be devastating who it hits. If you're having trouble I recommend just blitzing any small nation that's attacking you and try to wipe them out in one or two turns. If they counterattack don't defend unless they're trying to regain territory or trying to completely capture a place. Once you take a nation anything they took from you is given back, your main goal should be to just lower the amount of fronts you have to fight on.

>> No.3885422

>>3885384
You can get rid of Niwa for one NP, and if you have some characters with just above the minimum of the troop number bracket (like... 503 troops or 1014 troops), you can fire some to get to the previous bracket and gain one NP.
In that sense the Tenshi revolt did you a favor, you probably gained a couple NP when it happened.

I'm in Ran Route and shit is really tough, even worse than Monkey Kill.

I was still beating Houjou and Tenshi sect and Akashi + Asai-Asakura declared war for no reason. When I beat Asai-Asakura, Mouri declared war and so did Uesugi. Attacking a few territories in Mouri activated Shimazu, who took over Mouri and Takuga. That started the Takeda countdown.

Now, I'm being fucked from all nations not Dokuganryuu, with the worst team I've had in any game.

>> No.3885664

>>3885636
Just remember that in the end, the only territory you really need is Oda, and the fewer territories you have at the end the easier it is for you to get there. So defend what you can but Route business takes priority. Also try to level your commanders so you can do the dungeon at the end.

>> No.3885784

>>3885636
You don't really need to conquer anything in Ran route. The only real pain will be Shimazu taking one of your women, and you can just reload until they steal a generic.
Other than that you just need to hold what you have (though you should conquer the small fries once your Permit users have taken all subterritories). Make sure to keep Saitama and it should be fine.

After Shimazu has taken one of your females, there's a random event on the next free turn. Either they'll steal another or female or Rance will be pissed and decide to counterattack. If you get a 2nd female stolen just reload until you get the Rance pissed event.
Once you've seen it, you can do a big Search check (50, I think) in Shimazu territories to kidnap Kurohime.
I've always been in one of their four original territories when it happened though, so I'm not sure if you can do it in Mouri lands.

I read through this very knowledgeable thread in the archive on the Ranceverse.
http://archive.easymodo.net/cgi-board.pl/jp/thread/3355888

Anyway, I got some questions...

Does anyone know Omachi's skills and lv? She's marked as Diviner, so that'd be divine magic, and she's so strong, she'd have to be lv 3. If not that, then I guess she's something else.

Kouhime has "Self-protection" skill. Is that more or less "luck" on surviving situations? She also has spear lv1 which I was surprised at.

And lastly, I want to ask a question on Commander Charges. I know that if you are Sword lv 2 you can create your own technique like Rance Attack. I assumed characters that this tech was Commander Charge.
But there are some characters who are lv1 and have it (like Mouri) and those at lv2 who don't (like Ranmaru).
Explanation?

>> No.3885977

>>3885965
Commander Charge isn't a unique ability like Rance attack or By the way.

>> No.3885991

>>3885965
Why do you think Mouri is skill lv 1? He was noted in-game as being exceptionally skilled and powerful before being cursed.

And why do you think Ranmaru is lv 2? Her abilities are fairly average, aside from being fast.

~If what you know confuses you, question your assumptions.

Also, within the game at least, Omachi is Omachi tier - the single strongest (playable) character.

>> No.3886016

>>3885965
"Diviner" may be the class they gave to her in-game, but her dungeon class is "Youkai" so it's hard to tell what she is exactly.
It's also hard to tell what magic level she is; she does sound stronger than your average lvl 2. There's a pretty huge difference between 2 and 3 though, and she was defeated by Dokuganryuu Masamune who only has lvl 2 skills. She might be in the upper lvl2 range, same as Kenshin is in the upper lvl2 range (very close to 3).
"Rance Attack" and "Kentarou-kun Slash" do the exact same damage as Commander Charge so you're most likely right, Commander Charge is the generic name for a lvl2 skill special ability.
Not every lvl2 has developed this ability however, which explains why some lvl2s might not have it. Mouri having it despite being only lvl1 is puzzling, but might be because Sengoku Rance doesn't quite use the same system as previous Rance games (ninjas in Sengoku are ranged, for example). A few discrepancies are to be expected.

>> No.3886010

>>3885991
I don't "think" Mouri and Ranmaru are those levels, they ARE. You can go search through that link if you don't believe me.

>>3885977
I guess so, but in that case why can't anyone do it?

>> No.3886053

>>3886016
Thinking about it, perhaps you need to train and earn the "Commander Charge" tech. I mean, it's not like Rance and Kentarou instantly got it at birth or something. But you still need to be lv2.

As for Mouri, is it possible he's somewhat of a "bug" like Rance is? He's so tiny, yet incredibly strong and would have lived till ~200 years old, but the guy's just lv1

>> No.3886057

>>3886010
>Oh no, this is a "what if" data of what they would be like in a Rance RPG, it doesn't mean the characters shown will appear in the next Rance.

Basically, they just threw a few numbers together for popular characters without thinking too much.

I mean, lv 3 "fortune-giving vagoo" skills? lv 2 "unlucky" skill? It's obvious that at least part of it was a joke.

Also, since Masamune is a Youkai I'm pretty sure Omachi would be a Youkai.

>> No.3886064

>>3886016
Also, I guess for Youkai they don't list out specific skills; they simply just have "Youkai". Though I can see Omachi as lv3, if Masamune did beat her then I guess you're right and she's just lv2 "upper-tier"

>> No.3886078

>>3886053
Indeed, special abilities aren't gained overnight. From the requirements and events involved with getting Kentarou-kun Slash it sounds like it's not easy at all.
Now that you mention it... Mouri, even uncursed, might not be entirely human. That might serve as a reason to explain his ability despite being only lvl 1. Then again, maybe we're overthinking it... designers probably weren't looking at traditional skill levels when they gave abilities to characters. "He's kickass and reckless, let's give him Commander Charge".

>> No.3886085

Masamune had help from pretty much all of the Japanese humans from what I understand, and barely won. So it's possible that Omachi is stronger.

It's definitely possible. Most Youkai followed Omachi though, so even with all humans following Masamune it'd have been a pretty even fight. The humans were also being severely disrupted by the Soul Binder curse at the time, so Masamune's side really wasn't that strong compared to Omachi's. It might even have been weaker, and he beat her anyway.
In the end though, it's all speculation. Unless they release official data we can't say for sure (and even then the stats would be according to the judgement of the staff at AliceSoft).

Yes and no. Sengoku Rance is hard on first-timers, and if you read FAQs as you play you will have an easier time of not fucking up so badly that you'd have to restart. But it's not really all that fun that way, following somebody else's walkthrough.
