It's this set-up. I am not even using it anymore in that stage but I kept the cards on Reimu since the damage increase is huge. It helps that almost no one needs that card. It's cheaper in terms of stamina for me to use a set-up using Little Marisa in that stage since I have her at 8 cost still.

1. Hecatia inflicts Freeze on allies, not on enemies. It would be more accurate (but still wrong) to say it gives allies Charge.

2. It modifies unit agility, indirectly affecting turn order by allowing slower un-frozen units to potentially outspeed faster frozen ones, rather than being a binary state like Quick/Charge.
2a. This agility modifier also affects Slicing damage, used by speed units.
2b. Three layers of Freeze is roughly 33% less agility. Each individual layer of freeze is x0.875 agility, stacking multiplicatively

3. Freeze also has a random chance to inflict Delay at turn start. Delay affects the priority granted from using a spellcard or lastword over a normal shot. The priority order is
- Last Words
- Spell Cards
- shots and delayed Last Words depending on speed as usual
- delayed Spell Cards
- delayed shots
3a. Delay chance is random, and can't be relied on, but could *potentially* allow Hecatia to full-break an enemy with a basic shot before an ally unleashes a last word on the same turn.

That's the new UI for attacks, which uses icons to summarise their abilities instead of the wall of text in the bottom left. From the looks of things:

They're all either heavy or body bullets and all yin damage.
The base shot has a chance to poison and probably pierces defence? That or it scales off some other stat.
The second bullet has a killer attribute (anti-moony, perhaps?) and chance to boost yin attack.
The third and fifth bullets also have a killer, while the fourth has hard scaling.
The hard scaling number is also visible if you view the bullet line detail page, instead of being a generic text

170 was the highest I could find in the short time. Most of the good characters are between 80-120% scaling for some bullets. For random comparison, the highest scaling bullet that the original Yuyuko has is only 50%.

Also one can not forget the stats that the characters even have. SFES Moonhu might have 170% defense scaling but her defense is also really low. Someone like Yachie has over 1400 defense and scales with all of it.

Initial damage numbers are up. Looks to be more in line with sfes Yorihime than Flandre. But that is without a turn of setup and thus a base crit multiplier of x2.0. It may depend on which characters you have raised.
Reimu, Youmu, Chen, Flandre are all great general characters who can nuke down gauges.
Medicine, Eirin, Minoriko, Iku are anomaly appliers and breakers, which can supplement any lack of moon bullets.
There are also other nukers, like Kasen and Yukari, the latter of which can also tank pretty well.
If it can be done with general characters only, it can be done with a couple festival characters along for the ride.

I've noticed, but for a so-called "wiki" it's extremely incomplete. Lot of characters only have the scaling on their LW and not their spellcards (Mamizou, Satono&Mai, Yatsuhashi, Nemuno, Orin, ZUN Marisa) and they aren't consistent with the chances for inflicting stat debuffs (Orin, Rumia, Koishi even though they have Satori's).
They were pretty good for the early characters, but after that they ignored everything but LWs for most characters. Pretty pathetic.

She's actually pretty damn good, especially for an early unit. Lives forever, buffs team defense (+6 yang def w/ boost), maxes focus, lowers enemy yang def through shots, after rebirth has more stats than SFES characters, uses uncommon earth element, and she has the 2nd best barrier restore in the game after Otohime.

On the downside her breaking is only so-so, her entire kit is very backloaded, and she has no P restore so she's utter shit at farming. On the plus side at 3P her kit hits really fucking hard. Especially her LW. Give her the Alice/Seiga card and watch shit disappear. And that is WITHOUT any yang atk buffs. Give her some attack support and it'll hit even harder.

TL;DR: Yukari is a great hard content character at the expense of virtually all farming ability. If that's your thing then go for it.

Neither Yukari or Mami are good farmers. The former is a hard content specialist while the racoon is, idk, a breaker? Her kit looks pretty unremarkable aside from the fact that 100% of her bullets are elemental. So with rojo cards she should do well breaking in arena and tower. She has earth too which is pretty rare. Aside from that she does give the party 5 yin defense for 3 turns which is a lot.

Every line of moon will break a barrier
Some characters break based on anomalies like poison, blind etc. So if the bullet says it'll break based on anomaly then there you go.
Iku restores 4 barriers on her LW.
Just make sure you're feeding enough P to reach the breaking bullets you need, it's really not that complicated.
Oh and make sure those bullets actually hit, evasion and lack of accuracy can screw you over.

There's stuff that you can do, they already have the logic for stuff to happen after depleting a healthbar. Maybe they could do something to detect spellcard usage or something and hook something up to that. That would open a bunch of options for them to try.

I played few gacha games before and gotta say. To list out most shit I don't miss from previous games off the top of my head:
Waay greedier with free roll items, no errand mechanic, or any non-paid extra cubes, just small daily shit amount.
No spark mechanic i.e. roll fucking FOREVER for the character you want and still miss it because of shit luck.
Events were same content wise, but more geared against newbies with difficulty of late stages being sky high instead of normal/hard/lunatic that allows to at least finish the event's story.
Tower was way more of a chore, all floors dropped at the same time instead of gradual and ended in two weeks gone till next year, no damage carry over mechanic, which made weak units existence pretty much pointless completely from gameplay perspective.
Even bigger gap between top tier and lowest tier, much less methods for making low tier units somewhat viable. I used zero low tier units in that game, because it was literally pointless, here I was pretty satisfied with how Chen and Seiran work few times I used them with minimal upgrades, Chen still hits alright with her cards, Seiran has elemental spell cards, which are always nice.
Waiting for stamina to recover was a thing there, here I don't remember doing it once.
Overall, it has a room for improvement, with more special missions and such, but I've seen so much worse I'm kind of ok with how its going, its much more chill to play compared to the ones I've played before, even though its been rushed at 2x release speed for global and did some minor scummy stuff with unit release order, but its way less annoying compared to what I was used to.

Let me use an example. This is IN Reisen's first spell card. As you can see it has 3 moon element attacks and 3 water element attacks at full power. A "break" occurs when an elemental attack hits an enemy that is weak to it. In the case of this moon EX battle, everyone is weak to moon and only moon(that's the gimmick here).

So what is a break? A break is short for "barrier break". If you look at the upper left part of the battle screen you'll see how your opponent has a number of blue hexagons. These are the enemy's barrier. If you hit them with an elemental attack that they're weak to, they'll lose a barrier. If they lose all their barriers they'll be stunned for a turn and take a LOT of damage when attacked. Much of this game involves removing barriers -> last word nuking.

Now back to Reisen's spellcard. It has 3 moon element attacks, meaning that it can remove up to 3 of the enemy's barriers. Pretty good! But notice the yellow, orange, and red bars on the side with 1, 2, and 3 listed on them. This represents how much spirit power you need to use to access that part of the attack. In this case if you use 1 spirit power you get 2 more moon elemental attacks, which is exactly what you want. If you paid 2 spirit power you'd get 2 water attacks.. which in this moon EX thing is not what you want. This is why Reisen is such a good moon breaker. 3 breaks for only 1 spirit power is very strong.

The above is why spirit power-boosting story cards, like Midnight Tea and The Witch of Scarlet Dreams, are so coveted. They give you spirit power which in turn allows you to access more breaks in your attacks.

So in sum, hit enemies with elements they're weak too -> remove their barrier -> nuke them. You'll need to use spirit power to access more elemental attacks in a spell card.

Oh right, one last thing. There is one other way to break barriers, and that's through "anomaly breaking". Anomalies are just a fancy name given to classic status conditions like poison, blind, etc. The only twist is that the status conditions are placed on the enemy's barriers and stack in the process, and that there are some attacks that will break all barriers with a particular status condition. This is Medicine's entire gimmick. She poisons a bunch of barriers and then can break them all with her Last Word

The nips seem to think she's strong. Her initial rating at least is on par with ZUN Raymoo, though the ratings do change over time.

In any case her kit is great and I get the impression that they're making up for her base form being total ass:
>focus and spread shot are both all-target and offer sun break @ 0P and moon break @ 1P
>+20% vs favorable elements
> attack suite buff for burn anomalies. With a turn of setup can put 3-4 burns on herself
>gives all opponents 2 burn
>graze +1
>gives allies +2 crit atk and accuracy
>last word lowers enemy yin defense by 2
>has the dream combo of +atk, -def, +crit, and anomaly
>1750 yin attack
>last word is 100% sun

Only downsides are that her support is limited and that her all-target spellcard has no elements at all. But that's made up for through her sun annihilation LW. As far as slayers go she basically hits everything besides youkai (duh) and lunarians. To be exact: humans, gods, spirits, priestesses, wizards, living deities, demigods, demi-humans, religious people, and incident solvers
It isn't as all-encompassing as gensokyo slayer but it's still pretty wide.

Her damage is also very impressive. Her slayers hit like a fucking truck and she still hits hard even without it. Same story with her spellcard.

She could be just as weak as her base form and I would still spark her.

Shame about her all-target being no element though. Seems like with extra lifebars you want as many elements as possible these days. Doesn't seem to have Burn-break either. Hopefully she makes up for it with overwhelming damage.
