1. It got popular. And you know how 4channer opinions do a complete 180 when their once likable thing becomes popular.
2. It's English translated (not really even "translated" since it's created by English speakers in the first place), and /jp/ has irritational hatred towards non-moonrune games for some reason. It's better received in /v/.
3. It's just a demo and the release date of the finished version is "whenever we're done", whenever that would be.

I liked the demo and I will play the full version when (if?) it comes out.

I actually "discovered" KS only recently. After months of "gimme the chocolate Hisao" (I wasn't quite sure whether I should be repulsed by it, or to trust Anonymous and see what I was missing), I decided to try it and was thoroughly impressed.

After my initial feeling of awe wore off, I quickly realized that although KS had found niches on /a/, /jp/, /v/, and /tg/, I had yet to see an impressive thread reminiscent of the glory of it's earlier days, burning through 4chan with it's glorious cripple flames.

So now I'm stuck, still awestruck, and have no idea what to do with myself.

Hard to say.

The only VNs I genuinely don't like are Wind and Shuffle. Chaos Head fall under the mediocre category so the trolling is definitely deserved.
I haven't play KS yet and I definitely won't play them until the full version but it is troll so much. Do you really think just being popular deserve the trolling?
It is more like a combination of spam, mediocre game and people treating it like the best VN ever that it trollable. Not to mention the white knights defending the game merit and quality. You don't see this in FSN/Umineko/VN of the month where people troll it and it get ignore.
Just look at those umineko/fsn overrated thread, hardly get any replies while in KS thread there is bound to be a white knight saying how people only troll it because it is popular.
