Finished watching pic related, I don't understand how Yoichiro's father couldn't bring himself to kill Ippongi? Other than that, it was a very enoyable drama, good acting, story and characters. The ending scene with Ippongi and Yoichiro meeting at the school was sad

Yeah I watched it. I wasn't expecting it to be good without Macchan and Higashino but Hiromi and Izumiya did just fine. Bringing JP back again to do some funny monomane here and there made it even better, it made me realize the importance of monomane geinin when shit hits the fan and the main regulars can't come out and you need replacements.

I was reluctant to watch this show as I initially thought it was going to be a drama about teenage romance and aimed at Johnny's fans. I ended up binge watching all episodes as this show is definitely much more than a pure romance drama. The fact that the portrayed depression isn't glossed over as a singular, easy-to-get-over facet in the representation was a plus for me. The plot and pacing were very thrilling and the characters are believable. Also the production value was high, as expected from Netflix.

Well Shinhannin Flag 16 made some progress finally. Not one, not two, but three of the bad guys got caught by the police. I really was afraid they were gonna write in Atsuto getting kidnapped again in broad daylight. Though the mystery is still very hazy, I don't really see why Mao would have orchestrated this or why she had an influence on Haruka's decision to not kill Hikari.

Not everyone is supposed to talk, variety shows have a structure and roles to be fulfilled. Recently I read a manga that touched this topic, some geinin stars there to be the punchline or laugh and clap or do something funny. Idols are the same thing, they sir there to look pretty and cute and that’s all. Main guests like actors or whoever is the center of the episode are supposed to do the talking ( pwih the help of the MC). They hand them scripts and the director and their managers explain to them what their roles are and what they should do.

I just watched the "Itomichi" movie.
I''m a fucking newfag to modern japanese movies, and I had this absurd prejudice that they were all super forced and lacked honesty, and I just got back from watching one of the most heartfelt stories I've experienced in a long time. This season has been pretty garbage aside from Dakara Korosenakatta. I tried Hare-kon but it completely failed as a "ecchi" comedy. It was completely unfunny and the revealing scenes were so tame. Instead of watching >>38803343 I again changed mind in the last minute and watched "Their Distance" instead, from the same director. I'm really liking this Imaizumi Rikiya, the way he often just let the characters sit and talk naturally. Of course many others do this, but on these few movies I watched from him (Over the Town was the first) he manages to conjure a certain vibe that makes you very comfortable watching. Also, as bonus this was a very nice written multiple-characters multiple-entangled-threads type of story.

That film is offbeat and full of character clumsiness. It has a Jim Jarmusch or Buffalo-esque feel to it. The concept of the sense that there is no right answer to the question of what it means to love someone and that there is nothing you can do about it even if you think about it, also has the usual Imaizumi feel to it like most of his films. Not only love, but also other things are full of questions that have no answers, and you should accept your own struggles at that time and live honestly. I'm starting to get hooked with Imaizumi's films.
