I started a YouTube channel to post Japanese 2ch articles in English.

YouTube Channnel

I'm still practicing video editing, but hope you can enjoy

I gave you a pity view.
There's a reason these sorts of text-to-speech videos aren't the goldmine they used to be, even when ignoring how the context (2ch thread and reactions) is all missing.

i.e. You don't show and link to the original thread.

Thank you.
Your comment was would help me so much.

as the other anon have suggested, showing the thread on screen would be really helpful. it'd make more sense in context and in some cases it'll actually make the stories more interesting. the translation reads fine.
please keep the channel alive, there aren't a lot of translators for japanese board sites left.

Is it okay if I put the Japanese thread on the screen like this?

>> No.38604553

>>38604120
that'll work, you can either put it that way as it is and put the translation elsewhere or you can translate the image itself so the screen will be less cluttered.
personally I'd prefer the latter, but i think it won't work for people that want to see the original post. i believe you'll be able to make the right decision.

I think you should try to add some music in the background, it's a bit awkward to only hear the TTS followed by silence.

>> No.38605849

>>38602657
Why TTS? Just speak. If you have an accent you're insecure about, don't be. People get used to even strong accents.

WOW guys ty for all of these comments!
I am going to try some!

But, I am thinking about...
I should start posting other content. "What is happening in Japan" or "What will be a trend in Japan (or some event like Valentine) "
Maybe u guys don't know 2/12 was the 「ブラジャーの日」 = underwear "Bra Day" in Japan.
You can find some pic by "#ブラジャーの日"

What content do you want to watch?
If you have any other ideas you would like to see or know, everything would be helpful.

The reason why I'm using the TTS, I have a Japanese accent.
Although I thought TTS might be easier than I talk, maybe was wrong. ty

In the end, it's more important to go with what you're most comfortable with. Good luck, anon!

there is no difference between this and those channels that read reddit comments with text to speech voices

>there's nothing good on 2ch anyways and the websites looks quite dated
I lurk a few boards on 5ch, first is true in the same way that the vast majority of people, even people who are not normalfags in any sense of the word, think the same of 4chan and other imageboards. I'd say that's the nature of anonymous sites that don't really punish comments for being unintentionally low-quality or dissonant in an uninteresting/unhelpful way - you've got to find relevant content of your own accord and either have a tolerance or filter for the rest.

And 5ch looking dated/clunky doesn't really factor into it in the same way 4chan looks the same by most people, since:
1. The current design and UI fully provides for the designed capabilities on intended platforms: anonymous discussion around certain topics or just discussion at random. 4chan also has a few other draws like imagedumping, but discussion is still the primary one.
2. Users of both sites which want UI features beyond out of convenience use either wrappers or apps that provide it, and both sites either provide API access for it or change so little that scraping the webpage is viable.

Aside from the recommendation of having some low volume BGM and showing the threads/articles in question I can't really think of other recommendations.
I guess I would recommend also talking about stuff like Japanese internet urban legends or such. There's a lot of stuff from the Japanese internet that is unknown to westerners such as I.
Good luck anon! Do your best.

Personally I don't watch TTS videos, because to me it sounds "low effort", even though it isn't in all cases. However, there are countless Youtube channels that automatically generate Reddit post compilation videos, and of course use TTS. So, it ruins TTS for me... I also just like to hear different accents, because it balances against the countless Americans. But of course, if you don't feel comfortable with your accent, then it's understandable. Maybe try speaking in the videos and see how it affects viewers?

Good luck with your channel anon, as others suggested, I'll say the same thing, it would be better if you'd show the actual thread in the video as well, but otherwise, it's pretty good content, maybe one day it will blow up just like those r*ddit videos on yt/tiktok if you put enough effort to it.

>> No.38613253

honest opinions from a native english speaker:
tts combined with the unnatural sounding english ("it is the natural result of final countdown") is terrible, but if you have a strong japanese accent it might make it worse or even unintelligible
the video editing is god awful but it doesn't matter much (looks like imovie)
here's a example video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LXXAxRMh9xc

key points: images, mixing TTS voices

It would be better if you edited the actual posts to appear rather than just posting a bunch of clip art

All the best imageboard summary videos show the actual posts and have a little flair
