Do you ever talk to people with your eyes closed? It seems very popular in Japan and they do this in day to day conversations.
I may have done it while I was lying on bed or something, otherwise I don't think I've ever done it.

This is quite a normal behavior in Japan. In fact they do this formally in business meetings too.

I have tried doing this. It helps me pretend I'm talking to a computer or something instead of a person. People tend to think I'm sleepy (understandable, since it's usually late at night.

I walk around my house with my eyes closed. it takes a while to get used to it and you tend to cheat a lot at first, but eventually you can cruise around the place without ever opening your eyes. You tend to save a lot more on electricity when you don't need lights to see anymore.
